Tuesday, September 6th., 1927.
Board met in regular session at 9 A.M. All members ::present. - 11,
Minutes of meetings held August 30th., and August 3Ist., 1927, read and
approved.
The Board approved the following Guarantee Bonds:
G-daarantee Bond of the `illiston" Construction Co., for the grader, curb,walk
and pavement on Pulaski and C lvert Streets under Improvement Resolution No.I802.
Bond for 4 2,043.34, which is O of the amount due the contractor, signed by Inland
Bonding Co.
Guarantee Bond of Edward Di Julio for the pipe sewer improvement on McKinley
Avenue from `test line of Lot 58 Jefferson Park to Greenlawn Avenue under Improvement
Resolution No.I835.- Bond forry290,62, which is I0% of the amount Clue the contractor,
signed by the Inland Bonding Co.
No petitions having been filed for a change of type of pavement other than
that srecified in the reliminary order for the -.pavement of Parry �treet from Division
Street m to 5th. , alley �outh of Division 'Street under Improvement Resolution No.I897,
the Board this 6th. , day of September, 1927, hereby makes a final order for Sheet
asphalt Heavy traffic, and awards the contract for said improvement to the Williston
Construction Co., at their low bid of II,985.29.
No petitions having been filed for a change of type of pavement other than
that specified in the preliminary order for the -pavement of 26th. , Street from Jeffer-
son Blvd., to Mishawaka Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I866, the Board this
6th. , day of September, I927, hereby makes a final order for sheet asphalt heavy traffi
and awards the contract for said improvement to the Rieth Riley Construction Co., at
their low bid of 38,557.12.
No petitions having been f'i.l d for a change of the type of pavement other
than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of Hoviard Street from
South B nd Atrenue to the east line of Moreys Sub, under Improvement Resolution No.I889,
the Board this 6th. , day of September, I927, hereby makes a final order for sheet
asphalt heavy traffic as the type of pavement .rich w1.ich said street shall be improved
and awards the con�ract for said improvement to Albert Construction Co., at their
low bid of 12,948.80.
This being the date set, continued hearing was had on the assessment roll
for the condemnation (easement) for the Northwest Trunk ''ewer under Condemnation Reso-
lution No.I769.
Upon the request of the attorney for the New York Central, the Board decides
to continue hearing on said assessment roll until September I3th., I927.
This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll for the
construction of sewers on Gladstone and Sheridan Avenues and alley South of Division
Street under Improvement Resolution No.I785.
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed, and the Board being fully advised in the premises, finds that
the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement, have been
benefited in -.hhe amounts shown on said roll. The Board, therefore, takes final action
on said assessment roll, declaring same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved,
without modification, and she proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment
roll delivered to the Department of Finance.

f; remonstrance against the paving of Nash ourt:

In the muter of the remonstrance against the pavement of Nash Oourt, there
are I0 legal r0sfdcnt-property owners, 8 of whom have signed the remonstrance. This
constitutes a majority, therefore I would recommend that no further action be taken
in the matter,

!' The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said improvement
resolution and declares same null and void and all former action taken on said resolu-
tion is hereby rescinded.
II The Board approved the recommendation of Vim. F. Qualls for the installation
of a 4000 lumen light, mast arm construction and from overhead wires, at Kaley Street

on Lincoln Vday Test at a cost of--�45.00 per year. Same ordered.
The Board approved the recommendation of k+m. F. Qualls for the installation
(of a 1000 lumen light, bracket construction from over head lines, at a cost of 22.00
on West Jefferson Street at the alley between Maple and :Walnut Street. Fame ordered.
The Board approved the recommendation of Vim. F. � Qualls for the installation
of one Business District Lighting Unit at the north-east corner of Michigan and LaSal.11el
and also one at the south-east corner of the same intersection, at a cost of $5000

City Engineer, Mr. H. C. YTray, filed plans, specifications and estimat
and the Board adopted the following improvement resolutions:
Improvement Resolution No.I94I for the pavement of Scott Street from
Indiana Avenue to Chicago, South Bend and Southern R. R. (See files for resolution.)
Improvement Resolution No.I942 for the pavement of Webster Street from
Indiana Avenue to Prairie Avenue. (See files for resolution.)
Improvement Resolution No.I940 for the pavement of Thirty-fifth Street
from Mishawaka Avenue to North Side Boulevard. (See -Files for resolution.)
In all of the above named improvement resolutions, the Board hereby j .
orders that on the I2th., day' of October, 1927, this Board will meet in their office at
7-Ib P. M., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose propoerty is
liable to be assessed for said improvements and will decide whether the several lots anh
parcels of land which are liable to be assessed for said improvements will be benefited',
in proportion to the estimated costs of same as reported by the City Engineer. Board
further orders that notices of said hearings shall be published on the 23rd. , day of
September and on the 30th. , day of September, 1927, in the South Rend News Times and
Tribune and that property owners be notified according to law. j
