HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/10/1927 Board of Public Works Minutes426 WEDNMAY, AUGUST 11, 1927 Board met in regal.ar session at 7:30 P. M. Mr. Ralph H. Zuss and kiss Hazel Turner, Clerk, absent. City ngneer, r. H. G. Wray, filed plans and specifacations and toard adopted following improvement resolutions: ImprovementResolution No. 1928 for the pavement of the Alley between Sunnymede Avenue and Harriet Street from first alley South of Wayne Street South to Wayne -Street South. Improvement Resolution No. 1929 fornthe pavement on the Pirst Alley North of Stuumede Avenue from alley. Test of Sunnyside Avenue to East line of Lot 227 in Sunny- mede Addition. In both of the above named resolutions, the Board hereby orders that on the 7th Bey of September, 1927, this Roard will meet in their office in the City Hall at 7:15'P. M. to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property is liable to be assessed for said improvement and will Beside whether the benefits to the several lots'and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City Engineer. The Board further orders ghat notices of said hearing shall be published on the 18th day of August, 1927 and on the 25th day of august, 1927 in the South Pend News Times and Tribun a abd that notices shall be mailed to rpoperty owners according to law. City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Stray, filed plans and specifications and estimates and -Board adopted a resolution for the Grade, Gtwb and Walk on South side of Donmoyer Avenue from Michiga Street to Fellows Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1930. In the above matter, property owners waived allnobjections on and in defense to any defeat in said proceedings and to any violation in proeeedure for the construe- tion of street improvements as fixed by law. City Shgineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, submitted following partial estimates: Partial Estimate No. 2 for the pavement on Colfax Avenue frin Eddy Street to Sunnyside Avenue, in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and Rieth-Riley Construction Company, under Improvement Resolution No. 1715. Board signed same in the amount of $6,918.59 Partial Estimate No. 1 for the Pavement, grade, curb and walk on Sherman, Brun Streetri Rose Streetip Roosevelt Street and Beale Street in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and the W. J. Nees Co., under Improvement Rese- luti.on No. 1791, Board signed same in amount of^$-11,1m 9a Partial Estimate No. 1 for the pavement on Corby Street from Eddy Street to East line of Park Place Addition in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and Rieth-Riley onstruction Co., under Improvement Resolution No. 1832. Board signed same in the amount of $ 29t949.88 Partial Estimate No. 4 for the Grade, Gurb and Walk on Nidgedale Road, Avondale Road and Ridge Road, in accordance with the terns of the contract between the City and E. T. Tranberg, uncer Improvement Resolution No. 1868. Board signed same in the amount of $ 574.04 Partial Estimate No. 3 for Grade, Curb and Walk on Garland Road and Trelane Road in accordance with the terms od the contract between the City and E. T. Tranberg, under Improvement Resolution No. 1869. Amount of $ 857.98. City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, filed primary Assessment Roll for the pipe sewer on Orange Street from College Street to a point 40 feet West of East line of Lot 24 College Grove Addition t Also from Brookfield Street to a point 169.5 feet West of center line of Brookfield Street. Also from Grant Street to Alley West of 08Briem Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1796. In the above named assessment roll, the Board orders that on the 24th day of August, 1927, this Board will meet 'in their office in the City Hall at 7:15 P.M. to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parifels of land which have been assessed for said improvement have been benefited in the amounts shown on said roll or in a greater or less amount. Board further orders that noftives shall be k-ablished on the 19th and 20th. day off August, 1927.
