Bids having been received for the pavement on Van Buren Street from the C. I. S. R. R. to 8ancome Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.1884, the Board this 3rd. , day of August, 1927, hereby makes a preliminary order for sheet asphalt as the type of pavement with which said street shall be improved and sets the I6th., day of lugust, 1927, as the time when said Board shall either act on petitions for a change of type of pavement other than that specified in the .pre•- liminary order, award the contract or reject all bids. Turner, Clerk, absent. Minutes of meetings held August 2nd and August 3rd read and approved. This bring the date set, continued hearing was had on the Assessment Roll for the Condemnation(Easement) for the Northwest Trunk Sewer, under Improvement Resolution. No. 1769. Upon the request of Mr. John J. Yeagley, Attorney for the New York Central Railroad, Board continued hearing on said roll until the 23rd day of August, 1927. - - City Rngineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, made a report on the remonstrance filed against the pavement on Parry Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1897, show- ing firty resident property ownehs eh-th,6 street, twenty of whom have signed the remonstrance. As this does not constitute a majority, the Board therefore sets August 23rd as the date for bids to be received for same. Board approved Excavation Bond for H. Neupert, signed by the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company, for $1000.00 ' Board approved request of F. E. Chaappaign, Ci ty.Lectrician, to attend the annual meeting of the International Association of Eledtrical Inspectors, to be held September 26th to 29th. The approximate cost of trip not to exceed $50.00, I The Board signed the contract with H. L. Davis & Son for Grade, Curb and Walk on Eckman Street from -East line of Studebaker Place Addition to East line of High Street; also, from a point 180 feet hest of West line of Dale Avenue to Miami Street, under Improvement Resnlution.NO. 1858. Board also approved the construction bond for same in the amount of $4.1420.12 signed by the Metropolitan Casualty Insur- ance Comaany. i; Board signed contract with the Rietjs- Riley Construction Company for the I' pavement on Twenty-eighth Street from Mishawaka Avenue to Grand Trunk & Western Railroad, under Improvement Resolution No. 1837. Board also approved construction bend for same in the amount of 012,000.00 signed by the Southern Surety Company. Board signed the contract with John F. Hipskind for construction, of a sewer on Miner Street from West line of North Sunnyside Addition to Harriet Streets under Improvement Resolution No, 1926. Board also approved construction bond for same in Vac amount . of i ,030.10 si ed, _ by the Inland Bonding- Company. Board approved and signed same in the amount of9,329.71. Partial Bstimate No. 1 for the Roadway Widening and Pavement on Lincoln Stay West from North line of LaSalle avenue to Cottage Grove avenue, in accordance with the j terms of the contract between the City and the Williston Construction Company, under Improvement Resolution No, 1813. Board approved and signed same in the amount of $29, 764..45. Partial Estimate No. 1 for the Grade, Garb and. Valk on Wellington Street from Division Street to Jefferson Blvd, in accordance with the terms of the contract between; the city and Eston Ball, under Improvement Resolution No. 1827. Board approved -and signed same in the amount of $1,935.49 Partial Estimate No. 1. fok the Grade, Curb.and Valk on Johnson Street from Hamilton Street to Pershing Street, in accordance with the terms of the contract be- tween the City and H. N. Barnes, under Improvement Resolution No. 1846, Board approved and signed same in the amount of 4,656.64, Partial Estimate No. 2 for the pipe sewer in Ridge Road, Garlaald Road, and Trelane Road, in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and the Northern Indiana construction Company, under Improvement Resolution No, 1871. Beard Approved and signed same in the amount of $644.80. Board approved recommendation of Mr. film. F. Qmalls that the New York Central be requested to place a 6000 lumen light on the south side of their tracks at the new temporary depots at Prairie Avenue. Clerk instructed to write concerning same. Wray, filed following primary assessment rolls: Assessment roll for pipe sewer on Lincoln Way blest from LaSalle Avenue to Sever on Taylor Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1705. Amount due the etor $7,615.90. Assessment roll for pipe sewer on McKinleynAvenue from West line of Lot 58 Jefferson Park to Greenlawn Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 1835. Amount due Contractor $2,906.33. In both of the above assessment rolls, the Hoard orders that on the 24th day of August, 1927, this Boatd will meet in their office in the City Hall at 7:15 P.M. to hear and receive trmonstranees from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will ddeids whether the several lots abd parcels of land which have been assessed for said improvement have beeb benefited in the amounts shown on said roll or in a greater or less amount. Board further orders that notices of said hearings shall be published on the 19th and the 20 th day' of August, 1927, in the South Bedn Tribune and News Times. Claims signed amounting to $322.50.'
