Hinkle aVsent. ..Phis being the date set, hearings were had on the following improvement resolutions: I i Improvement 'resolution No.I890 for the pavement of Jackson Street from Indian Avenue to dalvert Street.. - - I-provehient `re`solutiQu No.1893 for th:e ' pavement of Napier Street from west line of Meade Street to east line of Kaley Street. Improvement resolution No.I894 -for t"he'pavement of Jefferson Street from west line of Meade Street to east line of Kerley Street. improvement resolution No.T896 for the pavement of Newcome Street from west � j line of Meade Street to Vast line of Kaley Street. In all of the above named improvement resolutions- remonstrators appear' ed and written "rem6n8tranees were- filed and the Adbird being duly advised in the premises, finds j i that the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvements, will'not be benefited in amounts equ& to the estimated cost of same. The`Board.,f there- • fore, takes final actioxl.on all of the above named improvement resolutions, rescinding All -former action taken on said resolutions and declaring same null and void and the proceedings closed. 11 This being the date set, hearing was had on Im rovement resolution No.I888 for the pavement of Carroll Street from Dayton Street to walvert Street. In the above named resolution, the Boarcj,after hearing all interested persons who appeared and being fully advised in the premises, finds that the benefits to the - lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the -estimated cost of same as reported by the City Engineer, Upon the petition of property owners, the Board takes final action on said improvement resolution, modifying �' same- so as to provide for pavement of Carroll Street from Dayton Street to Milton Street, and confirms said improvement resolution as modified. This being the date set, hearings were had on the following improvement resol tions: Improvement resolution No.I873 for the pavement of the first alley south of !Napier Street from Walnut Street to Laurel Street. City Engineer, Mr.'H. G. Wray, submitted a revised report on the remonstrance on 28th.9 Street pavement, showing 46 resident property owners and -the remonstrace-' signed by 2I"freeholders. This number does not constitute a majority, therefore, the improvement can be made, The Board signed the contract with Hoban and Roach for the construction of pavement on Bertrand Street from East.line of Bendix Drive to east line of Nancy Street I under Improvement Resolution No.I902. Board also approved the construction bond of same in the amount of $I4,340,00 signed by the American Surety o., of New Yorke The Board signed the contract with Reith Riley Construction Co. , for _the pavemea on Altgeld Street from Nest line of High Street to Miami Street .under Improvement Resolution No.I843. Board also approved t e construction bond of same in the amount of 6,833.75 signed by the southern Surety o., of Des Moines, Iowa. City Engineer, Mr. H. Chicago Street under Improvement Resolution No, 1722. In the above m.med assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that on July 27th. , 1927, the Board will meet in their office in the Qity Hall at 7-15 P. M. to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts named on said roll or in a greater or less sum than that named on said roll. The Board further orders that notice of said hearing shall be published on the 22nd., day of July and on the 23rd., day of July, 1927, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune. The Board of appraisors filed their report of the assessed district in connection with the opening of Bulla Street under'Condemnation Resolution No.I844.
