Minutes of meeting Tuesday July I2th. , 1927, read and approve
This being the date set, the Board, hereby, takes final action of the
matter of the pavement of Oakside Street from the west line of Fellows Street to

order, the Board this I9th., day of July, I927, he-=eby makes a final order for sheet
asphalt as the type of the pavement with which said street shall be improved and
awards the contract for said improvement to the Iffillitton Construction Co., et their
low bid of $35,398.45, their bid dieing -the lowest and best bid for sheet asphalt
pavements bight Traffic.
This being the date set, the Board h reby takes final action on the
matter of the pavement of !Woodside street from Pellovrs Street to a point I20 feet west
of the west line of Dale Avenue under Improvement Resolution Yo.I8I6. Petition having
been filed for the changing of the type of pavement from concrete, the type specified
in the preliminary order, to sheet asphalt, the type petitioned for by the ma jarity
of resident free holders, the Board this I9th., day of July, 1927, hereby makes a Tina
order for sheet asphalt as the type of pavement with which said street shall be ijaprov
ed and awards the contract for said improvement to the Williston Construction Co., at
their low bid of $27,899.69, their bid being the lowest and best bid for sheet asphalt
pavements Light Traffic.
This being the date set and no petitions having been filed for a change
of the type of pavement other than that specified in the =eliminary order for the I�
pavement of Altgeld Street from west line of High street to 111ami street under Impro-
vement Resolution Ho.I843, the Board this I9th., day of July, 1927, hereby makes a 1
final order for sheet asphalt pavement as the type of pavement with which said street
shall be improved and awards the contract for said improvement to the Reath Riley
Construction Co., at their low bid of 12,833.50.
The Board signed the contract with the ffilliston Construction Co., for
the pavement of i�oodside Street from Fellows =street to a point I20 feet west of the
west line of Dale street under Improvement Resolution No.I8I6. Amount of contract
being '27,899.69. Board also approved the construction bond for same in the amohn
of "13,949.85, this being 50% of the contract price, signed by the Inland Bonding o.
The Board signed the contract with the 77illiston Construction Co., for t
pavement of Oakside Street from the -west -line .of Fellows Street to Miami street under
improvement Resolution No.I836. Amount of contract being �35,398.45. Board also
approved the construction bond for same in the amount of ,I7,699.23, this being 507
of the contract price, signed by the Inland Bonding Co.
The Board signed the contract iri th ahi tcomb & Heller Co. , for the constr C
ion of grade, curb and walk on fain street from Vloodside Street to Dean Avenue under
Improvement Re. oluticm No:I847. Amount of contract being :�7,I78.50. The Board also
approved the construction bond for same in the amount of 7, I78.50, this being I00%
of the contract price, signed by the New York Indemnity Co.
The Board signed the contract with Rieth Riley Construction Co., for the
construction of pavement on Corby Street from Edd y street to East line of Park Place
Addition. Amount of contract being $20,949.50. The Board also approved the construe
ion bond for same in the amount of rI0,500.00, ,tithi2 being approximately 50% of the
onntract price, signed by the Southern surety �o. , of Des I4roines, Iowa.
City Engineer, Mr. H. G. gray, submitted the following partial estimates
which the Board signed and approved:

in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and Eston Ball. Board
signed and approved same in the amount of 31,737.27.
Partial estimate No.I for the sewer improvement on Orpge Street from
College street to a point 40 feet west of the east line of Lot 24 ollege Grove Ada.,
also from Brookfield Street to a point 169.5 feet west of the center line of Brookfie
also from Grant Street to the alley west of O'Brien street, in accordance with the
terms of the contract be-tween the City and Rocco Simeri, under Improvement Resolution
No.I796. Board signed and approved same in the amount of $2,I03.21.
Partial estimate No . I for the pavement of Colfax Avenue from Eddy street
to Sunnyside Avenue, in aeeordanee with the terms of the contract between the City
• and Rieth Riley Construction Co., under Improvement Resolution No.I7I5. Board signed
and approved same in the amount of :$6,931.79.
Partial estimate No.I for the grade, curb and walk improvement on
Ridgedale Road, Avondale Road, and Ridge Road in a"ceordance with the terms of the

No.I868. Board signed and approved same in the amount of 02,825.03.

That the lepartment of Public `.+orks of the City of South -6-Ad, India,
does by this agreement grant to the Chicago, Sout=l Shore and South Bend Railroad,
authority to construct, maintain and operate an industrial spur railroad track within
THE City of South Bend and over, upon and across "Cal. eT Street as follows:
Beginning at a point on the crest line of la.ley Street, Forty-one (41J feet
south of the southwest corner of Kaley and Lawton Streets in said City; thence across
Ka.ley Street in a eoutheasterly direction, all according to -the Blue print attached:
to the petition for said grant and as indic_Ited thereon.
This grant is made upon the express condition that said track across Xal'ey
Street shall be constructed so gh to conferm with the established grade of said street;!
that said Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad shall plank the street between
the rails of said track, and for two (2) feet on the out side of the rails, with planks
not less than two (2) inches in thickness, which shall, at all times, be kept securely
in place and to the grade of Laid street, and shall in the maintenance of said track,
in all things comply with the laz-is of the State of Indiana and the ordinances of the j
City of South Bend.
In :`;fitness whereof, the Department os' Public .`forks, acting for and on behalf;
of the City of South Bend, has caused this agreement to be executed by its duly author-
ized officers on the date first above mentioned, and the said Chicago, South Shore
and South Bend Railroad has hereunto -caused its name to be inscribed.
