Assistant engineer, ITr. R; L. Pike, filed a report for the grade,,: curb and
walla im- veme-t on Olive Street from Been Street under I mprovement Resolution Tito. I872
Report is as follows
"There are �s:e re resident property owners `on this street, �f �� of whom:
have signed the remonstrance against this improvement, leaving only five for' the''impro`
vement." This constitutes a majority, therefore, the Board cannot let a contract for sai
improvement and declares" all former proceedings 'on aaid resolution, null and void and
the resolution rescinded. ,i
No petitions having been filed for a change of the_ type of pavement other
than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of Tecumseh Street from
North curb line of Vlakewa'AvenAe to the South curb line of . Parl�ovash Avenue under
Improvement Resolution No.I84I, the Board this I2th. , day of July, I927, Yiereby males
a final order for sheet asphalt as the type of ravement vfith which said street shall:
be improve_._:' and awards the contract for said improvement to the Albert Construction
Co., at their bid of "6,205.64, this being the lowest and best b*d presented. V
No petitions having been filed for a change of thetype of pavement other
than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of Wakewa A -venue from
`ichigan �Itreet to Wet property line of Tecumseh Avenue pro jected south, under
Improvement resolution 7.10.I842, the Board this I2th. , day of July, 1927, hereby makes
a final order for sheet asphalt as the t -pe of pavement with which said street shall
be improved and al ards the contract for said improvement to the Albert Construction
Co., at their low bid of 775..52, this being the lowest and best bid presented, i

than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of Corby Street from
Eddy Street to East line of Park Plce Addition under Improvement Resolution T1o.I832,
the Board this I2th. , day of duly, 1927, hereby makes a final order for sheet aspaalt
as the type of ravement withwhich said street shall be improved and awards the
contract for said improvement to the Rieth Riley Construction Uo., at their low bid
of 020,949.50, this being the lowest and best bic. presented. ✓
Petitions having been filed for a change of the type of pavement other than j
that specified in the preliminary order, City Engineer, made the following report on
the peitioo; filed for Oakside Street under Improvement Resolution No.I836:

"There are six resident freeholders on this street within the improved limits;
four of whom have signet_ th petition requesting sheet asphalt pavement on Oalcside
Street under Improvement Resolution No.I836. This number constitutes a ma4ority and
therefore, I „ould recommend that a final order be made for sheet asphalt type of

Board hereby decides in the -matter of the . Oakside Street pavement under Improvement-`

In the above matter, property owners having waived all objections on and
in defense to any defeat in said proceedings and to any violation in proceedure for the
construction of streets improvements as fixed by law, the Board proceeded to receive,
open and read sealed proposals for the construction of said Improveventnt as follows:

to Hoban' & Roach at their' low bid of 14,596.901 their bid being the lowest and best
bid for concrete pavement. /
This being the date set, hearings we e had on the following
assessment rolls:
Assessment roll for the pavement of Angella Avenue .from 1"E.arcquette
Avenue to Lafayette Blvd., .,nder Improvement _151,esblation No.1702.
Assessment roll for Une pavement of Angella Avenue from Lafayette
Blvd. , to the west rail of Southern M.. R. R. , under Improvement Resolution �to.I70I._�
Assessment roll for the pavement of alleys in Belleville Addition
under Improvement Resolution ilo. I792.r'
In all of the above named assessment rolls, , no remonstrators
uppeared._and'no written remonstrance was filed, and the Board. being fully advised in
the premises, finds that the several lots and parcels of land which have been assesse
for said improvements, have been benefited in the amounts shown on said assessment
rolls. The Board, therefore, declares said assessment rolls, filed July 5th. , 1927,
in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board
now ordors said assessment rolls delivered to the Department of Finance. -
The Board signed the contract %: ith the Albert Construction 'o. ,
for resurfacing `dakevia Avenue under Improvement Resolution TSo.I842, Board also appro-
ved' the construction bond of .same in the amount of ?387. 76 signed by the Inland Bonding
Co., which is 50,cS cf the contract price of said improvement.
The Board signed the contract with the Albert Construction Co.,
for resurfacing Tecumseh Street under Improvement Resolution 1To.I84I, the amount of
the contract being-6,205.64. The Board also approved the construction bond of same
in the amount of 50 !-f the contract price signed by th Inland Bonding "o.
The Board signed the contract r:2 th the illistern Construction Co. ,
for the pavement of Sunnyside r--enue under Improvement Resolution TTo.I89I, the mount:
of the contract being �4,,331.60. The Board also approv_ic. the construction bond of
same in the amount of b0;' of the contract price signed by the Inland Bonding 'o. ✓

The Board signed the contract with H. IT. Barnes for the construction of
grade, curb and walk on Johnson Street from Hamilton to Pershing under Improvement
zesolution Io.I84G. Board also approved the construction bond of same in the amount of
5, 5I5.90 signed by the Southern Surety Co.
Upon t ae recommendation of " . F . O,ua lls , supt. , the Board approved the
installation of a street light at the corner of t first alley -south of Lincoln Tay
-,est on the east side of Cleveland Avenue. game ordered at a cost of r45.00 per year.
Upon the recommendation of `T. F. walls, supt. , the Board apprLxed the petit ii z
of the Indiana &; ?`ichigon Electric Co., for the installation of poles on lifornia
Avenue and i7ilber Street.

Resolution No.I903.
In the above named resolution, the Board hereby orders that on the 3rd ,
day of August, I927, this Board will meet in fheir office in the City Hall at 70-15
P. IrF., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons -.-hose property is liable to
be affected by said condemnation. _ Board further ord-rs that notices of said hearing
shall be published in the South Bend yevrs Times and Tribune on the Nth., day of July
and on the 22nd. , day of July, 1927.

"There are three (3) resident freeholders on this street wthhin

street be paved with Sheet asphalt. This number constitutes a majority and therefore
I would- recommend that a final order be made for sheet asphalt pavement on this improver

Upon the recommendation of T;`r. 4Iray and City Fitt-6rney Iv'r. I. S.
Romig, the Board hereby decides, in the matter of the Woodside Street pavement under
Impr ovement Resolution No.I8I6, to with hold final action on the above matter until
Tuesday Morning, July I9th., I927, at which time the Board will either award the contract
for said improvement or reject all bids.
The Board hereby appoints Edward Pfeiffer, David Gibson and Ralph;
Osborn as appraisors in the matter of the Bulla Street opening under Condemnation
Resolution No.I844. Clerk instructed to notify the above of said appointment.
