she Board signed the contract with John F. Hipskind for the construc;t-
tion of a seer on Kinyon Street from Sherman Avenue to a point 20 feet west of the
east line of lot 186 Northwest Addition under Improvement Resolution No.I85I/ Board
also approved the construction bond of same in ihhe amount of 2,443.15 which is 50% of
the contract price, signed by the Inland Bonding Co.
The Board signed the contract with Alex Bukowski for the construction
of grade, curb and walk on Kentuck Street under Improvement- Resolution No.I834. Board
approvdd the construction bond of same in the amount of 1,557.30 which is 100% of the
contract price signed by the United States Fidelity Co.
The Board signed the contract with Alex Bukowski for the construction
of grade,curb and walk on Iowa Street from Division Street to Jefferson Blvd., under
Improvement Resolution No.I824. Board approved the construction bond of same in the
amount of �I,954.82 signed by the United States Fidelity Co.
The Board signed the contract with Eston Ball for the construction
of g ade, curb and walk on Lake Street under Improvement Resolution No.I825. Board
approved the construction bond of same signed by Few York Indemnity Co., for $2,278.45
which is I00% of the contract price.
The Board signed the contract with Eston Ball for the construction
of grade, curb and walk on T"Iellington Street under Improvement Resolution NoOI827,
Board approved the contruction bond of same signed by the New York Indemnity Co., in
the amount of V21277.05 which is I00c of the contract price.
The Board signed the co#tract with Eston Ball for the construction
of grade, curb and walk on Falcon Street under Improvement Resolution No.I826. Board
approved the construction bond of same signed by the New York: Indemnity Co., in the
amount of =$2,.043.85 which is I006' of the contract price.
Thin; being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll
for the pavement of Angella Avenue from Leeper Avenue to a point 5.6 ft west of the
east line of the right of way pf Sputhern Michigan Railway under Improvement Resolutioh
No,1700.
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and
no written remonstrance was filed and the Board being fully advised in the premises,
finds that the lots and several parcels of land which have been a ssessdd for said
improvement, have been -benefited in the amounts shoinm on said roll. The Board, there-
fore, declares said assessment roll, filed June 29th., I927, in all things ratified,
confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment
roll delivered to the Department of Finance.
This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll for
the pavement of Lafayette Street from Angella Avenue East oi' Lafayette Street to the
South line of Parkovash Avenue under Improvement Resolution ho.I699.
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and
no written remonstrance was filed and the Board being fully advised in the premises,
finds that the several lots and parcels of land which have been assessed for said
improvement, hace been or will be benefited in the amounts shown on said roll. The
Board, therefore, declares said assessment roll, filed June 29th., I927, in all things
ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders
said assessment roll delivered to the Department of Finance.
I_r. R. L. Pike, assistant engineer, filed the following assessment
rolls:
Assessment roll for the pavement of Angella Avenue from Irlarquette Avenue
to Lafayette Blvd., under improvement resolution No.1702. Amount due ailliston Const.,

Assessment roll for the pavement of Angella Avenue from Lafayette
Blvd., to ''=est rail of `southern Michigan R. R., under Improvement resolution No.I70I.
Amount due Williston Construction Co:,-?I0,580.65.
Assessment roll for the pavement of allyys in Belleville Addition
under Improvement Resolution Tyo.I792. Amount due Achille C. Colparrt, contractor,
:8,490.29.
In all of the above named assessment rolls, the Board hereby ord_.rs
that on the I2th. , day of July, I927, this Board will meet in their office in the City
Hall at I0:00 A. M. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property
has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and
oabeels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts shown on said rolls.
Board further orders that notices of said hearings shall be published in the South
Bend News Times and Tribune on the 7th. , day of July and on the 8th. , day of July,

purchase of electric bulbs for the year 1927.

improvement Carl E. Zimmer at his low bid of 2,066.35.
Bids '_paving been received for the construction of pavement on

tion I o.I843, the Board hereby _makes a prelimin. rr order for sheet asphalt as. the
type of pavement with`.vihi ch said street shall be improved and sets the I9th. , day of
july, I927, as the time when said. Board shall either act on petition for a change of
the type of paverent other than that specified in this preliminary order, award the
contract or reject all bids. the Board maces this preliminary award. to Reith Riley
Construction 6o., at their lo-:i bid of I2,V3.50 for sheet asphalt.
Assistant City Engineer, 1`r. R. L. Pike, filed plans, specifica-
tions and estimate and the Board adopted a resolution for the construction of a local
yeti-7er on Fairview Street from Larine Street to Tylyckehham Drive under Improvement
Resolution I?o.I90I. Property owners waived all right of cb:jento for or in defense
of said proceedings and to any violationin procedure for tie construction of street
improvements as fixed by lava.

Assistant City Engineer; 11"r. R. L. Pike, Filed the report of the
remonstrance against the Turnock Street pavement as follows
"There are 16 resident free holders living on this street; six
of whom have signed the remonstrance. This does not eonstitut'e a -majority, therefore,
the Board may advertise for bids and let a contract for this improvement,"
The Board hereby orders that bids iyill be received, opened and
read on Jnly- I9th. , 1927, at the office in the City Hall at 10:00 A. 11. , for the
following improvements:
Pavement on Turnock Street from South Bend, Avenue to Corby Street
under Improvement resolution No.I862.
Grade, curb and utalk on Olive Street from Bergan Street to {�lson
Street under Improvement Resolution No.I872.
Grade, curb and walk on Eckman Streit from East line of Studebaker;
Place Addition to Past Tine of High Street; also from a point ISOnfeet West of the j
West line of Bale Avenue to Miami Street under Improvement Resolution ITo.I85$.
The Board further orders, in the matter of the above named impro-
voments, that notices of said. -proposals shall be published in the South "Bend News
Times and Tribune on the 9th. , day of. July. and on the I6th. , day of July, -1927.
Assistant Engineer, 11r• R. L. Pike, filed a report on the
remonstrance against the pavement on 26th., Street under Improvement Resolution
No.1866.
"There are 53 resident property owners on this street, 13. of whom
have signed the rennn.s ,ranee. This. does not constitute a majority, therefore, the
Board may advertise for bids and let a contract for this improvement."
The Board, hereby orders that bids vill be received, opened and
read on July I9th. , I927, at the office of , the Board in the City Hall at I0:00 A. 1%
for the following improvements:
Pavement on Frances Street from Sorin Street to South Bend Avenue
under Improvement Resolution No.I864.
