John Olejniczak absent, This being the date set, hearing was had_ on the assessment roll -for the pipe sewer on queen Street From Blaine Avenue to a point 10 feet Vast of the West line'of Lot 139 in Northwest Addition, Third Plat, under.Improvement Resolution No I764. In the above matter, no remonstrators appearecl and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board being fully advised in the premises, finds that the several lots and parcels of land which have been assessed for said improvement, have been benefited in the amounts shown on primary assessment roll, filed March 23rd., 1927, and therefore, declares said assessment roll in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. Board further orders said assessment roll delivered to the Department of Finance. This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No. 1786 for the construction of a local sewer along Sheridan Avenue from the South line of.the Ist., alley South of Division Street, to a point 82 feet South* in the above matter, no remonstrators appeared and written remonstra,tce was filed, and the Board being filly advised in the premises finds that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of `same, as reported by the City Engineer, and that the improvement is necessary. The Board, therefore, declares said resolution in all things ratified,, confirmed and approved without modification. The Board nowc.Drders that on the 26th., day of Aril I927, at I0:00 A. M*p sealed proposals for the construction of a local sewer alo g �Sheriden Avenue from the South line of the Ist., alley South of Division Street to a point 82 feet South under Improvement Resolution No.I786. Board further orders that notice of said proposals be published on the I5th., day of Aril and on the 22nd., day of April, I927, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune. This being the date set, continued hearing was had on the Vacation of Tutt Street under Vacation Resolution No.I765. In the above matter, the Board decides to continue hearing on said Vacation Resolution until May IIth., 119270 at 7-I5 P. M1. • City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, filed plans and specifications and the Board f adopt-ed the following Improvement Resolutions: Improvement Resolution No.I798 for the construction of a sewer along Donald Street 'dEtween the Alley East of Leer Street and Sampson Street. Improvement Resolution No.I796 for the construction of a sewer along Orange Street from College Street to a point 40 feet Test of the East_ line of Lot 24 College Grove Addition. ALSO from Brookfield Street to a point I69.5 feet West of the center line of Brookfield Street. ALSO from Grant Street to the alley West of O'Brien Street. In both of the above Improvement Resolutions, the Board hereby orders that on the 27th. , day of Aril, I927, at 7-I5 F.�. , this B©ard, at their office. in the ,City Hall, will meet t hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose prop"�y is liable to be assessed for said improvements and will. decide whether the several I. lots and parcels of land will be benefited in the amounts shown on the estimate filecl by the City Engineer. Board further orders that notices of said hearings be published on the 8th. , day of April and on. the I5th. , day of April, 1927, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune. City Engineer, liar. H. G. dray, filed plans and specifications and the Board 9 adopted a resolution for the construction of grade, curb and walk on Jacob Street from N. line of Me�iinley Avenue to N. line of Miner Street; ALSO Madison Street from W. line.of Harriett Street to a point 196 feet West; ALSO Cedar Street from W. Line of Harriett Street to W. line of N. Submyside, Addition; ALSO Miner Street from rid. , line of Harriett Street to W. line of N. Sunnyside Addition, under Improvement Resolution No.1797. In the above named resolution, the property owners waived all objections on and in defense to any defect in said proceedings, whereupon the Board, received, 1 opened and read proposals for the the construction of grade, curb and walk under Improvement Resolution No.I797. H. Webster at his low bid of 2,572.25. City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, filed a statement from Carl D. Trailer Contractor for the Southeast Trunk Sewer, for extras amounting to $9,508.75,, Attached to said statement was her. Wray's recommendation that said bill in the amount of 39,508.75 should not be allowed . Mr. Wray's recommendation is as follows: T' Memo to the Board of Public Works." Gentlemen: April 5th., I927. Attached hereto you will please find a statement of Yr.-Carl D. Traxler against the City of South Bend, for extra work in connection with his contract for the Southeast Trunk hewer. These extras should not be allowed in connection with this contract for the reason. that the contrait does not provide for any extra wor1q unless upon the written order of the Engineer and the Board of Public forks,. Furthermore, t the items mentioned in the attached statement represent work that he was expected to do for his contract price. Very truly yours H. G.
