Wednesday gg, February I6th., 1927.
Board met in. regular session at 7-I5 P. IT,. All members present.
This being the date set, hearing vus had on the Vacation of the North and
South Alleys in Belleville Third Unit Addition under Vacation Resolution 110.I772.
In the above matter, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance
was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, decides to sustain all
former action taken on said Vacation resolution and declares same in all things,,,
ratified,, confirmed and approved.
The Board now: orders that a list or roll be prepared of all owners or
holders of property and of valuable interests the-ein sought to be taken or to be
innjuriously affected, which roll shall also describe the property beneficially affeet-
This being the date set, continued hearin, was had on the vacation of the
portion of the third alley west of Laporte Avenue from the ist., alley North of
Colfax to a point 60 feet.South of the Northwest corner_ of lot 49 Rockafellers 2nd.,!
-Addition, under Vacation Resolution No,1766.
In the above matter, Abr. Aaron Huguenard, attorney for the Chicago, South
Bend Railway Co., advised.•the Board that at the time the Railway Co., petitioned for
the vacation of this alley, they felt that they were protecting the surrounding
property *owners and in so much as the property owners feel that their rights are
being infringed upon by said vacation, the Railway Company desires to withdraw the
petition. After hearing all persons concerned in said Vacation, the Board hereby
rescinds all former action on said Vacation Resolution and declares same null and
void$ and the proceedings closed.
This being the date set, hearings were had on the following Assessment
rolls: -
Assessment roll for the construction of Pipe Sewer on Fox Street from
alley west of Clyde Street to Caroline Street under Improvement Resolution Nto.I734.
Assessment roll for the construction of Pipe Sewer on Oakside Street between
Yiami Street and Ist alley west of Dale Avenue under Improvement resolution Bo.I67I.
Assessment roll for the construction of grade, curb, walk, water connections
and sheet asphalt pavement on Palmer Boulevard from Nast line of Harriett Street to
East line of 14dison Park Additions under Improvement resolution No.I723.
In all of the matters, no remonstrators appeared' and no written remonstrance
was filed and the Board being fully advised in the -premises, finds that the lots and
parcels of land which have been assessed for said improvements, have been or will be
benefited in the amounts shown on said rolls and therefore, `declares said rolls,
filed February 3rd., I927, in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the
proceedings closed. Board further orders said rolls delivered to the Department
of Finance.
This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll for the
construction of a Pipe Sewer on Donmoyer Avenue from High Street to a point 152
feet `rest of the center line of Viami Street, under Improvement Resolution No,1735,
In the above matter, 1r. Ferdinard, ocrmer of lot No.347, appeared and
complained about the condition of the street along the line of the sewer. Mr,
Hipskind, th contractor for this work v:as present and said he would send his men
out to take care of same just as soon as the weather would allow. After all persons
interested in same and no written remonstrance being filed, the Board being fully
advised in the premises, finds that the lots and parcels of land which have been
assessed for said improvement, have been benefited in the amounts as shown on said
roll, and therefore declares said roll, filed February 3rd. , I92% in all things
ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. Board now orders said
roll delivered to the Department of Finance.
This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll for the
construction of Twenty-fourth Street Sewer System under Improvement Resolution
No.I644.
Upon the request of Russell T. Smith, president of the Coouillard Land
Go., the Board decides to continue the hearing on this roll until February 23rd.

This being the date, hearing was had on the Improvement Resolution No,1773
for the construction of local sewer system known as the Randolph -Hoke Street Sewer
system.
In the above matter, rie<,1emonstrators appeared and no' written remon-
strance was filed and the Board

to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement, as equal to the
estimated cost of same as reported bar the City Engineer, and thereupon, takes final
action on same, d;claring said resolution in all things ratified, confirmed and
approved.

The- Board hereby orders that on the 8th. ,day of March 1921, at 10 A.m.,
sealed proposals will be received for the construction of the Randolph-?loke Street
local sewer system under Improvement Resolution No.I773. Board further orders that
notice of said proposals shall be published on the 25th., day of February and on
the 4th. , day of March 1927, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune.
This being the date set hearing was had on the Improvement Resolution No.
I77I for the construction of the Sherman Avenue Trunk Seder under Improvement Resolu
tion No.1771.
• In the above matter, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance
was filed, and the Board, being fully advised in the matter, finds that the benefits
to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the
estimated cost of same, as reported by the City Engineer, and that the improvement
is necessary and that the area to be drained is properly bounded as described in
the resolution. The Board, therefore, declares said resolution in all things ratified
confirmed and approved.

The Board hereby orders that on the 8th., day of March 1927, at 10 A.M. 0
sealed proposals will be received for the construction of the Sherman Avenue Trunk
Sewer S�stem under Improvement Resolution No.1771. The Board further orders that
notice of said proposals be published on the 25th., day of February and on the 4t
• day of March I9270 in the South Bend News Times and Tribune according to law.
City Engin er now files estimate under Improvement Resolution No.I774 for
the Northwest Trunk ewer System*, in the amount of $I,738$086.23.
This being the date set hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.
774 for the construction of the northwest Trunk Sewer System.
In the above matter, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance
was filed, and the Board, being fh.11y advised in the matter, (finds that the benefits
to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement, are equal to the estimated
cost of same as reported by the City Enginer, and that the improvement is necessary,
and that the area or district to be drained is properly bounded as described in
said resolution. The Board, therefore, declares said resolution Noo1774, in all
things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification,
The Board now orders that on the I5th. , day of March I927, at I0 A. IT.,
sealed proposals will be received for the construction of the Northwest 'Trunk Sewer
S*stem under Improvement Resolution No.1774. The Board further orders that notice
of said proposals shall be published on the Ist. , day of March and on the 8th.., day
of Ya,rch 1927 in the -South Bend News Times and Tribune according to law.
City Engineer, H. dray, filed primary assessment roll for the construct
ion of the pipe sewer on Kale; Street from a point 20feet North of the south line
of Lot I056 Summit Place 4th. , Addition to the center line of Sample Street under
Improvement Resolution No.17I9. 1. 11. Staples, contractor, net amount due 5,633.08.

In both of the -above assessment rolls, the Board hereby orderer that on
the 2nd. , day of March 1927, this Board, at its office in the City Hall, will meet
to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed
for said improvements and will decide whether the lots or tracts of land have been
or will be benefited in the amounts shown on said rolls. Board further orders that
notices of said hearings shall be published on the I8th., day of February and on the
25th., day of February, I927, in the South Bend News Times and Tr1bune.
The Board approved the following Guarantee bonds:
Guarantee bond of A. Spadoni & Co., for the construction of a pipe sewer
on -south Bend Avenue from manhole 8-0 ft.,, east of the east line of Jacob treet
to the center line of Harriett Street under Improvement Resolution No.1720. Bond
for I0% of the contract price or 208.97 signed by the Standard Accident Insurance Go
Xhe Board approved the following excavation bonds:
Excavation bond for Joseph Colbert for $I,000.00.
Excavation bond for 44illiam Bollinger for $1,200.00.
Excavation bond for 0. K. Plumbing & Heating o. , for I,000.00.
The .Board -approved the _Guarantee Bond of of A. Spadoni & Co., for the c onstruo
ion of the 24th. Street Trunk Sewer under Improvement Resolution No.1644. Bond for 10
of the contract price or $4,004.47 signed by Standard Accident Insurance Go.
