The Board signed the contract with Van Trump Testing Laboratory for testing
�aqhalt for the year I927. This contract is the same as for the year I926, that is
2 2 � for asphalt pavements having a specified thickness of 2 inches; 2 3/4 � for all
;asphalt xr�vements having a specified thickness of 2 2 inches; 3� for all asphalt pave-
ments having a specified thickness of 3 inches per square yard of finished pavement.
-Upon the recommendation of 77m. 17. Qualls, the Board approved the installation
!� of the following lights:
TO -six, thousand lumen lights on the Jefferson Bridge
g : ge and a cost of50.00 each

per year or 500.00.
I- four thousand lumen light at Bellevue and Hildreth Street.

I- four thousand lumen light at Robefts and Ruskin Street.

Both . of the above at a cost of 45. 0 ylights. I per year or 5�90.00 for both Same

I The Board approved the drive way for Service Station at the corner of Sample
Street and Franklin Street owned by H. B. VanTTess.
City Engineer, xFr. H. r . ¶"-ray, filed plans and the Board adopted a resolution
for th.e vac<<<tion of the North and South rlleys in Belleville Third Unit under Vacation
Resolution No..I772.
In the Prove ?ratter, the Poerd hereby orders that on th.e I6th., day, of Februar
1 I927, this Board, at it's office in the City Hall at 7-I5 P. 77. , will meet to hear and
receive remonstrances from all persons whose property is liable to be affected by said
proceedings and will decide whether the lots or parcels of land rave 1�een or will be
benefited by this vacation. Board further orders that notice o-" this hearing be publish
on the 28th. , clay of January and on the 4th. , day of February, I927, in the South. Bend
News limes and Tribune.

The Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. ?F. All members
present.
This being the date set continued hearing was had on the
vacation of the portion of the allev T"est of Studebaker Street bet,-reen west extensions
of Colfax Avenue and Hine Street under Vacation resolution No.I767.
In the above matter, no remonstrators appeared and no "written
remonstrance was filed, and the Board therefore declares said resolution adopted
on the 8thl, day of December I926, in all things ratified, confirmed .and approved.
The Board now orders that a list or roll be prepared of all owners or holders of.
property and of valuable interestes therein sought to be taken or to be injuriously
affected, which roll shall also describe the property beneficially effected.
This being the date set, continued hearing was held on the vacation
of a portion of the third alley west of Laporte Avenue from the first alley north of
Colfax Avenue to a point 60 feet South of th.e Northwest corner of lot 49 Rockafellers
second Addition under Vacation hesolution No.I766.
in the above matter, property owners in this vicinity appeared
And remonstrated against said vacation. Yr. Aaron Huguenard, attorney for the
Chicago, South Shore Street Car `'o., requested the Board for a continuance of.
the hearing on this vacation to allow the Street L'ar Company time to submit additional;
information with respect to this alley. vacation. The Board, therefore, decides to
continue this hearing until February I6th., I927.
This being the date set, continued hearing was had on the Vacation
of Tutt Jtreet under Vacation jesolution No. I765.
In the above matter, upon the request of persons interested in said i
vacation, the Board hereby decides to continue he -ring on same until "`arch 2nd. , I927.
This being the date set, rearing was had on the Assessment roll
.for the Vacation of the alley between lot 66 Henricks & Grants Additi on and Tot TO
Kent and Garrisons Sub , of Lot I Henricks and Garrisons Addition from ".arson Street
to the North line of said lct s IO and 66, under Vacation resolution No.I763.

the benefits as shown on said roll. The Board, therefore, decides to continue J '
