News 'Times and South Bend Tribune. Board further orders that notices of said hearing
be mailed to property owners, according to law.
The Board approved the Yarquise for the Theater building at the corner of
Yichigan and CRlfax, -afterBuildiing Commissioner had first given bis approval of same.
Upon the recommendation of Building Commissioner, T"r. D. roomaw, the Board
hereby orders that Section 858 of the Building Code, requiring all contractors to
file a bond of not less that 51000.00 before a permit of occupancy be given, shall
be enforced. The Bond to be subject to the approval of the Board of Public ','forks and
be placed on file in said office.

Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. ,t. all members present.
This being the date set, hearingwas had on t1he assessment Poll
for the pavement on City Hall Court under Improvement Resolution No.I292.
In the above matter written remonstrances were filed by the follow:ap
property owners:

Birdsell, L- R. Keegan,Phil L. Nicar, -`arie Nicar, fed Vicar and Irene Nicar
George Omacht.
The Board finds, in this matter, that the contractor is working
on said improvement at the present time in an effort to correct any defect in same
and therefore, the Board decides to continue the hearing on the assessment roll
until October 6th.3 I9261 at which time the contractor will have completed the
work.
This being the date set, continued hearing was had on the assessment
roll for the Fgirview-",'ain Trunk Sewer under Improvement Resolution No . I544.
In the above matter, lilr. Barrett repre sent ing the Studebal,er Realty
Co., was present and remonstrated against the assessment of the Studebaker ,Realty Co.
n written remonstrance was filed by 1+r. Barrett for the Studebaker-ea.lty `'o.
Samuel Parker was also present in the interest of the
Pennsylvania Rail Woad Co., and remonstrated in their behalf-gainst the assessment
of said rail road company.
After hearing 9.11 persons interested in same, the Board decides to

take same under further advisement and continue the hearing for one week or until
October 6th., I926.
The Board approved the mainbenaince bond of the Plummer Construct-
ion Company for the pavement on City Hall Court under Improvement Reso lut ion No.1292.
This guarantee bond being for I0% of the contract pride, and aVnountirp-to I245.02
and signed by the Southern Surety Co., of Bemoines Iowa.
City Engineer, Mr. IT C.'>ray, filed assessment roll for the
cement sidewalk on the East side of Eddy Street from Bronson Street to Belmont avenue
under Improvement Resolution No.I659. This being a waiver, the Board approved same
in the amount of 264.60 and declares said roll, filed September 29th., I926, in all
things ratified, . confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed.
The Boa--d signed the following contracts and approved the
construction bonds on same:

Resolution No.I633.
In the above matter several, property ov ners appeared and remonstrated against
the water connections assessments but upon investigation City Engineer, Mr. "'ray,
finds that the water connection against lot #659 is correct as there is a double
house built on this lot, one side facing Meade Street and the other facing Ford Street
Ili. the complaint of property owners against water connections on l6ts No.965 and
No.966, City Engineer, Mr. "'!ray, finds that these water connections had been made
previous to the time of the pavement improvement and therefore should not be assessed
j against these properties. The Board modifies the assessments on these two lots
in the amounts of the water connections, leaving the total assessments 234.73 for
each of these lots. In the matter of the 8 foot strip which was assessed against
lot 610, the Board finds that an error was made by the abstractor in showing this
j strip as belonging to 6IO instead of to lot 6II, and the Board, therefore, changes
roll to show the 8 foot strip belonging to lot 6II and the property of Mike and
Cyrilla Beke.
After hearing all persons interested insaid roll, the Board finds that
the lots and tracts of land assessed on said roll have been benefited in the amounts
named on said roll, and therefore declares said roll, filed 6eptember 22nd., I926,
in all things ratified, confirmed and approved, with the above modifications.

Board signed the contract and approved the construction bond of the
Albert Construction Co., for the pavement of Palmer Blvd., under Improvement Resolutio
No.I723. _ Construction bond being for I00',of the amount of the contract, I8,864.00
and signed by the Inland Bon ding Co.
• The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of the 11.1bert Construction Co., for -
the ='•eade Street pavement under Improvement Resolution NoI§33, signed by the Inland
jBonding GO. , for I0� of the contract r, ,.=ice, : 5, 743.19.
1. The Board approved the drive way at 205 -eade Street, presented by
J'hitmarsh for his Coal yard at the above address.
City engineer, °r, rr r. ray, filed Plans and specific -tions and the
Board adopted a resolution for the grading_ of the alley South of ubail from Kemble
Street to Dougla-g Street under Improvement Resolution No.I750.
In the above matter, the Bo and orders that on the 27th. , day of October,
I9261 this Board at it Is office in the City mall at 7-I5 P. T , will hear and receive
remonstrances from all Persons interested in or affected by said Proceedings. Board
further orders that notices of this hearing be published on the 7th.1 Cay of October
and on the I4th.1 day of October, I9261 in the Yews Times and Tribune, and that all
property owners be notifidd according to law.
