Board met in regular session at 9 A. V11. All members present.

City Engineer, 1',r. H. G. ',`,Fray, filed assessment roll for the
grade, curb and walk in Eincol.n Terrace under improvement hesolution No.I5e8. This
being a waiver, the Board approved the assessment roll in the amount of 24,646.4.9,
and delcared the assessment roll in all things ratified, confirmed and. approved.
The Board signed the contracts and approved the following
construction Bonds:
The 'idilliston Uonstructin,�Co. , for the construction of grade,
curb and walk om O'Brien Street under Improvement Resolution No.I645. The c cn.struction
bond being for I00`� of the amount of the contract price, 5, I95.85, s ign:d by the
Inland Bonding Co.
The 'Williston Construction "o... for the construction of grade,
curb and walk on Johnson Otreet under Improvement Resolution Nlo.I646. The construction!
bond being for Ip0 of the contract price , 41557.30, signed by the Inland Bonding Co.
The uIlliston construction �o., for the construction of pavement;
on O'Brien Street under Improvement Resolution No.I747. The Construction bond being fo'r
`I00% of the contract price, I4,337.92 signed by the Inland Bonding Oo.
The ".'illiston Construction 6o., for the construction of a sewer
on O'Brien Street under Improvement Resolution No.I748. The Construction Bond being
for I00% of the contract price,6,594.00, signed by the Inland Bonding Co.

The Board awarded the contract for the pavement of Palmer Blvd.,
under Improvement Resolution No.I723 to the Albert Construction Go., at t heir bid
of I8,864.00. Sheet asphalt beinp, the bnly type of n avement bid on, the Board makes
a final award for said improvement. A petition signed by the St. Joseph Loan and Trust
o., consenting to have the contract awarded on said street, in view of the fact that
the bids received were in excess of 50%f of the valuation of the property Ps assessed
for taxation.
The Board ordered the boulevard lights turned on in Ridged2le
Second l'ddition according to the contract between the city and the Indiana & Yichigan
Electric Co. 1Z
The Board granted permission to the S uth Fend Tribune for the
erection of a temporary platform for the score board for base ball games.
City L;�gineer, Yr. H. G. ray, filed plans and specifications and.
the Board adopted a resolution for the pavement o" the alley east of Lincoln gay East
from Harper. _Court to 2nd., alley south, thence to Lincoln '°ay bast, under Improevembnt
Resolution No.I749.
In. the above matter, the Board heYeby orders that on the 20th.,
day of October, I926, this Board�at it's office in the City will meet to hear and
receive remonstrances from all persons whose property will be assessed f cr said
improvement. Board further orders that notices of said hearing be published on the

30th. , day of Septemberm 1926 and on the 7th. , day of October, I9 26, in the
News limes and South Bend Tribune. Board further orders that notices of said hearing
be mailed to property owners, according to law.
The Board approved the Yarquise for the Theater building at the corner of
Yichigan and CRlfax, rafterBuilding Commissioner had first given his approval of same.
Upon the recommendation of Building Commissioner, Vr. D. Yoomaw, the Board
hereby orders that Section 858 of the Building Code, requiring all contractors to
file a bond of not less that 5,000.00 before a permit of occupancy be given, shall
be enforced. The Bond to be subject to the approval of the Board of Public orks and
be placed on file in said office.

Board net in regular session at 7-I5 P. `. All members present.
This being the date set, hearing was had on t�ae Assessment I -Roll
for the pavement on City HQ.11 Court under Improvement Resolution No.I292.
In the above matter written remonstrances were filed by the foil'owripg
property owners:

The Board finds, in this matter, that the contractor is working
on said improvement at the present time in an effort to correct any defect in same
and therefore, the Board decides to continue the hearing on the assessment roll
until October 6th. , 19261 at which time the c ontrpctor will have completed the
work.
This being the date set, continued hearing was had on the assessment
roll for the Fgirview-"Fain Trunk Sei,Ter under Improvement Resolution No . I544.
In the above matter, r:z,. Barrett representingthe Studeba"<-er Realty
Co., was present and remonstrated against the assessment or the Studebaker,,Realty co.
n written remonstrance was filed by L-Ir. Barrett for the Studebaker Realty `'o.
r,Tr, S„muel Parker was lso present in the interest of the
Pennsylvania Rail Woad Co., and remonstrated in their behalfainst the assessment
of said rail road company.
