All members present. i This being the day set, hearings were had on the following Assessment Rolls: Pipe Sewer on Bronson Street from Eddy Street to Sunnyside Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I569. Grade, curb and walk on OtBrien Street from '7erwinski Street to the North line of Janowski's 2nd., Subdivision under Improvement Resolution No.I573. Grade., curb and w alk.on High Street from 7wing Avenue to Fairview Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I590. Grade, curb and walk on Elwood Avenue from Olive Street to Meade Street under Improvement Resolution No.I589. Concrete pavement on the Alley between Elder Street and Paris Street from Carroll Street to the 2nd., alley "Vest of Carroll Street under Improvement Resolution I549. Grade, curb, walk and ravement on South Street from Eddy Street to Sunnyside Avenue under Improvement Resolution No. I568. In all of the above matters, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstr ce was filed and the Board finds that all lots and tracts of land have been benefited in the amounts named on said rolls. The Board therefore, decides to sustain all former action on said rolls and declare same, filed August 4th., I926 and August I8th. I926, in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. This being the date set for the hearing on the Assessment Roll on the Diagonal Street grade, curb, walk and pavement improvement under Improvement Resolution No.I5I8. In the above matter, Judge Lenn Oare, representing ?:ors. Edna Beberger sole heir to the Henrietta Reass estate, =appeared and remonstrated against said assessment. Judge Oare pointed out the fact that the assessment on this Feass property was disproportionate to the benefits to the property. Judge Oare filed a written remon- strance against the assessment of said property. After hearing all persons interested in said Assessment Roll, the Board decides to modify said roll, the modifications consisting of a reduction of approximat ly 35% on various lots on said roll. The Reductions are shown in red on said roll and are a follows: A 1. of Lot 6. belonging to C. ''. Lee and Lillian Lee I75.00 S.88 ft. of lot 5€, except that part taken for 7,.Tilliam Street, 97.85 ft. belonging to A. TV^etromaras & G. Upon hearing of the reduction, Judge Oare, in behalf of the Henrietta Reass estate, withdrew the remonstrance, and the Board, therefore, declares said rod 1, filed August 4th. , I926, in a 11 thing ratifi ed, confirmed and approved, as modified, and the proceedings closed. East Line of Park Place 2nd., and 3rd., Additions, under Improvement Resolution No.I655. Board approved and signed same in the amount of 8,825.04. Partial Estimato No.I f or the grad e, curb, w alk a nd pavement on Belmont Avenue from Eddy Street &o Yishavaka ==venue to the Yortherly line of Longfellow. Avenue mn accordance with the terms of the contract between the city and the illiston Uonstruction Co., under Improvement Resolution YoI666. Board approved and signed sr -,me in the amount of I0,42I.85. Upon the recommeddations of 77m. F. `)ua11s the following lights were approved: - 4000 lumen light at Fox and Clyde Streets Ewing and Vernon Streets, Ewing and Caroline Streets, and Ewing and Sampson Streets. Cost 225.00 per year. Petition for light at `Tar `zer and Bendiz Drive deh1ed. I000 lumen light at corner of Bulla and 1-Inders6h Streets at a cost of 22.00 per year. 4000 lumen light on Sample Street in front of the Albert Construction Co., asphalt plant. The Construction Co., to pay for same Which will be 45.00 a year. Petition of the Indiana "- rTichigan Electric Go,., to set 20 poles on Humbolt Street and in the alley between Anthony and Fraley Streets north from Lincoln lay Eest in Lincoln Terrace addition. Same approved. Petition of the Indiana Bell Telephone Co., for permission to place poles and anchors in Sunnysude Addition for both telephone and electric service. Same approved. s zaen 176 '�ednesday, ugust 25th., 1926 This being the date set, hearings were had on the following improvement resolutions: Improvement Resolution No.I722 for the pavement of Division Street from the west line of Olive Street to the Fast Line of Chicago Avenue. Improvement Resolution No. I72I for the construction of a sewer on Eldora Court from Lincoln ,,'ay East to a point 305 feet south of the Southerly line o Lincoln 'Way East. In the above matters, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board therefore, decides that the benefits to the properties, liable to be assessed for said improvements, are equal to the estimated cost of same, as filed by the City Engineer, and declares said resolutions in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Board hereby orders that on the 8th., day of September, I926,at 7-A sealed proposals will be received for the construction of the pavement on Division Street under Improvement I,-eso lut ion No. I722 and also for the c o#structi on of the Sewer on Eldora Court under Improvement Resolution No.I72I. Board further orders that notices of said proposals be published according to law on the 27th., day of August and on the 3rd., day of September, I926, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune. G. 17ray, filed plans and specifications and � the Board adopted a resolution for the construction of walk and curb on the "North side of Sample Street from Chapin ''treet to :,'alnut ''treet under Improvement Revolution No.I730. Board hereby orders that on the Ifth., day of September, I926, at the office of the Board in the City Hall at 7-I5, a hearing will be had for all persons interested in or affected by the above named resolution and will decide whether the beneftis to the property liable to be assessed for said improve- ment will be equal to the estimated cost of same.
