Tuesday, August 24th., 1926.
Board net in regular session at 9 A. 15. All members present. Yinutes of
meetings held August I7th., and August I8th., I926, read and approved..
Board signed the contract with the Smoger Lumber for the construction of
the Hose House No.9 in River Park at the cost of 14.9643.00. The Board also
approved the construction bond for said contract signed by,The United States
Fidelity 2w Guaranty o., for I00% of the contract price.
111fter due consideration by the Board, the Board hereby rejects all bids on
the heating of Fire Station No.9 and decides to readvertise for bids. Same to be
received .September 7th..., I926, in the office of the Board in the City Hall at
I0:00 A. Y. Board orders that notices of said proposals be published in the
!) South Bend Tribune and News Times on the 25th..; day of August, I926 end on the
Ist. , day of 'eptember, I926, according to law.
The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of the "illiston construction Co.,
on the grade, curb, walk and pavement improvement on 5,,uth Street under Improvement
Resolution. No.I568.-
The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of The '.7illiston Construction Co-
on the grade, curb, walk and pavement improvement on Diagonal Street under Improvement
Resolution 14o.I5IB,
The Board approved the Excavation Bond of 1liam Otterstein &; Son signed by
the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company.
The Board signed the contract with the '."illiston Construction Co., for the
pavement on lairview Avenue from T- ichigan Street to i�'ain Street under Improvement
Resolution No.I682 for 3,804.I6. Board also approved the construction Vond for said
work for I001? of the total amount of the contract and signed by the Inland Bonding
Co.
j The Board signed the contract with the ri lliston Construction Co. , for the
construction of grade, curb, walk and pavement on South Street from Sunnyside _Avenue
to Longfellow Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I725. The amount of the contract
being I9,674.22. The Board also approved tT-e construction bond for said contract,
it being I00`' of the total amount of the contract and signed by the Inland Bonding
Co.
Bids having been received for the improvement of Palmer Blvd„ from Sunnyside
-venue to the East line of r.adison Park Addition, under Imp-rovemnt Resolution No.
I7I2, and no petitions having been filed for a change of the type of pavement other
than that stated in the preliminary order, the Board this 24th. , day of August, I926,
hereby makes •a final order for sheet asphhalt as the type of pavement with which s aid
street shall be improved and awards contract for said impro-T�mi ent to the Albert
Construction Co., at their low bid of 8,IQ3.66.
No petitions having been filed for the charge of t'-.e type of pavement other
than that specified in the preliminary order, the Board this 24th.., day of August,
I926, hereby makes a final order for sheet asphalt as the type of pavement with
which Portage Avenue from Keller to '�°ilson Street, shall be improved, under improvemen
resolution No I692, and awards tl-e contract for sdd improvement to the Albert
Construction Co., at their low bid of I41,455.56.
No petitions having been filed for a change of the type of pavement other than
that specified in the preliminary order, the Board this 24th., dayof August, 1926,
herebyWakes a final order for sheet asphalt as the type of '

LaSalle A,,enue from Eddy Street to Sunnyside Avenue, shall be improved, under
Improvement Resolution Tdo.I7II, and rereby awards the contract for said improvement
to the. Albert Construction Co., at their low bid of I8,550.37.

makes a f inal order for sheet asphalt as the type of pavement with which Lsther Street
from Jefferson Blvd., to P,cKinley Street, under Improvement Resolution No.1693, shall
be improved and awards the contract for said improvem;nt to the Albert Construction
Co., at their low bid of 22, 342.98/
City Engineer filed tabulation of bids -for the g ade curb and walk improvement
on Sunnyside -venue from South Street to Longfellow Avenue under Improvement Resolutio
No.I729.

his bid of 2, 242.54. This being the only bid received and the improvement being
waivere d.

Construction Go . , under Improvement Resolution No,168I. Board approved same and
signed in the amount of 6,266.22.

Deleware Street in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and
Alex Bukowski, under Improvement Resolution No.I555. Board signed and approved
same in the amount of 2, 459.02.
City Engineer, Mr. H. G. 72ray, submitted popy"_o.f cQntr et fop the
p-Rvement in V oodlawn Addition under Improvement Resolution No.1669.
City Engineer filed Assessment Rolls as follows:
Pipe sewer on Yorris Street from Prairie Avenue to Ewing +.venue under,
Improvement Resolution No.I539.
Grade, Curb and Balk on Randolph Street from 1.'arine Street to Leer
Street under Improvement Resolution No.I578.
Pipe Severer on Grade Street from the Alley East of i"'alnut Street to
the West line of Oliver Chilled Plow Co.'s property.
In all of t'r_e above matters, the Board hereby decides that on
September 8th., I926, at 7-I5 P. r,?., this Board at it's office in the City Hall
will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property is affected
by. said improvement and will decide whether the benefits to the property so assessed
are equal to assessments as shoeFn on said rolls. Board further orders that notices
of said hearings be published according to lava in the South Bend Tribune and News
Times.

Ili. both of the above matters, the Board hereby decides that on the
I5th. , day of September, I926, at 7-I5 P. r. , this Board at it's office in the City
Hall, will hear and receive all remonstrances from persons whose property is affected
by said improvement and will decide whether the benefits to the property so assessed
are equal to the assessments as shown on said rolls. Board further orders that
notices of said hearings be publibhed a ccording to law in the South fiend Tribune and
News Times.
