Wednesday, August 18th., 1926.
Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. Y.. All members present.
Board approved the Guarantee or Yaintenairice Bond of John F. Hipskind
on the Wall Street Sewer under Improvement Resolution No.1646.
Board approved the Guarantee or lIaintenaince Bond of John F. Hipskindll
on the Chester and Emerson Street Sewer under Improvement Resolution No.I645.
This being the date set for the hearing on the final Assessment Roll
on the pavement of Harriett Street from Jefferson Blvd., to ]McKinley Avenue under
Improvement Resolution No.I650, the Board finds that the property so assessed on
said roll filed August IIth., I926, is benefited in the amounts as shown on said
roll. There being no,remonstrators present and no written remonstrance filed, the
Board therefore, declares said roll in all things ratif 3e d, confirmed and approved
and the proceedings closed.
Hearing had on the Assessment Ko!l for the pavement of LaSalle Avenuei
from Sunnyside l-'venue to Gre enlawn -"venue under Improvement Resolution No.I651.
In the above matter, the Board finds that the property so assessed
on said roll, is benefited in the amounts as shown on said roll, filed August IIth. ,
1926, and equal to estimated odst of same, as reported by the City Engineer. There
being_; no remonstrators present and no written remonstrance filed, the Board, therefore,
de&lares said roll in all things ratified, 6onfirmed and approved and the proceedings
closed.
Hearing had on the }assessment Roll for the Local Sewer on Chester
and Emerson "treets from Harriett Street to a point IO' south and 9' East of the
North East Corner of Lot 7II Sunnymede Third Addition, under Improvement Resolution
No.I645.
In the above ratter, ro remonstrators appeared 'and r.o written l
remonstrancq was filed and the Board f inds that the property assessed for said
improvement has been benefited in the amounts as sho.-rm on said roll, filed July 28th ,
I926, and therefore, declares said roll in all things ratified, confirmed and
apprpved and the proceedings closed.
Hearing had on. the Assessment Roll for the Local Sewer on �Iliall Street
from the Trunk Sewer opposite the middle of lot 698 -Sznnymede Third r ddi t ion to
Harriett Street, under Improvement Resolution No.I646.
In the above matter, no remonstrators appeared and no written remon-
strance was filed and the Board finds that the benefits to the property assessed
on said roll are equal to the estimated cost of the improvement, as shown on said
assessment roll, filed July 28th., and the Board, therefore, declares said roll in
all things ratified, confirmed and approved and *the proceedings closed.
City Vngineer, Yr. H. G. ""ray, filed the following Assessment Rolls:
Grade, Curb and 17a.lk on High Otreet from Lwing to Fairview .Avenue
under Improvement Resolution No.I590.
Concrete pavement on alley between "-lder and Paris Street from
Carroll Street to second alley west of Carroll street under Improvement Resolution
No.I549.
Grade, Curb and walk on Ilwood Avenue from Olive Street to Yeade
Street under Improvement Resolution No.I589.
In all of'�the: _above rolls; the -Boardf:hereby orders that on the
25th., day of "ugust, 1926, this Board at it's office in the City Hall will hear
and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed and
will decide whether the benefits to the property so assessed on said rolls are
equal to the estimated cost of same. Board further orders that notices of said

City Engineer filed Assessment roll for the grade, curb and walk
improvement on O'Brien Street from lerwinski Street to the Yorth Line of Jan.owski's
2nd., Subdivision, ubder Improvement Resolution No.I573.
In the above matter, the Board hereby orders that on the 25th., day of
�! August, 1926, this Board, at it's office in the City HAll, will bear and receive
remonstrances from all persons whose property has beenassessed and will decide
whether the benefits to the property so assessed on said rolls, are equal to the
estimated cost of same. This being a complete '-Waiver, no publication is necessary.
City 9ngineer filed-ssessment Roll for the grade, curb and walk im-
provement in Monti0@11ea. Addition under Improvement Resolution No.I675.
This being a complete '::'aiver and no notices being required by law,
the Board, this I8th., day of August, .I926, hereby decides that the benefits to
property for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of same as reported
by the City Engineer, and therefore, declares said roll in all things ratified,
confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed.

In the above matter, the Board hereby orders that on the first day
of September, I926, this Board at itls office in the City Hall, will hear and
receive all persons interested in or affected by said proceedings and will decide
'i whether the benefits and damages to property so affected are equal to the amounts
as shown on said roll, filed August I8th_ , 1926. Board further order s that notices
of said hearing be served according to law on all persons affected.

Eddy Street to a point 35 f6et I'lest of t'h.e 71.`.fest line of Lot 32 Kuehnts Ist., Addition.
The emount of the contract being 2411.00 and the construction bond for I00�� of the
contract price, signed by the Globe Indemnity Co. Resolution No.I697.

T . T. Tranberg for the bonstruction of grade and curb on the north side
of Almond Court under Improvement Resolution No.I708. The amount of the contract
being I08.90 and construction bondfor I00�o of the contract price, signed by the
American Employers' Insurance Co.
E. T. Tranberg for the construction -of concrete pavement in alley
between Dunham Street and Fisher Street from '"jalnut Street to St. Casmir's Court
under Improvement Resolution No.I690. The amount of the contract being I352.59
and the construction bond for 1001of the amount of the contract signed by the
iAmerican Emplyoers+ Insurance Co.

i Hearing had on the pavement of Jacob Street from Washington Avenue
;i to T,1'cKinley Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I7I9.
In the above matter, no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrance was
filed and the Board therefore, finds that the benefits to the property liable to be
assessed for said improvement, ire equal to the estimated cost of same as reported
by the City Engineer, and the Board, therefore, declares said resolution in all things
ratified, confirmed and approved.

In the above matter, no remonstrators appesred and no remonstrahceswas
filed and the Board finds that the reneftts to the property liable to be assessed for
said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of some as reported by the City
Engineer and the Board, therefore, declares resolution in all things ratified,
confirmed and approved.
Board hereby orders that on the 3Ist., day of August, I926, bids
will be received, opened and considered for the pavement on Jacob Street under
Improvement Resolution No.I7I8; also for the construction of a sewer on.Kaley Street
under Improvement resolution No. I7I9. Notices of said proposals to be published
according to law on the 20th. , day of August and on the 27th. , day of August, 1926,
in the South Bend Tribune and News Times.
Petitions having been received for the pavement on Victoria Street from
Yffichigan to Fellows Street under Improvement Resolution No.I684, City Engineer made
the following report on same:
Ther6 are 2I resident freeholders on this street, II of .Thom have signed
the petition for a change of type of pavement other than that made on the preliminary I,
order. This number constitutes a majority and the Board, therefore, this IBth., day
of August, I926, makes a final order for Sheet Asphalt as the type of pavement with
which said street shall be improved and awards the contract for said improvement to
the "eith Riley Construction Co;, at their low bid of I4,835.80. E
Board approved the Excavation Bond for the Harry D. Perkins Co., for
I,000.00 signed by the United States Fidelity and Gue.ranty Co.
City Engineer, Yr. H. G. '''ray, filed plans and specifeation s and the
Board adopted the following improvement resolutions:
Pavement on Broadway from Yiami Street to 7�'srine Street under Improve-
ment Resoluti cn. No.I727.
Pavement on Roger Street from Johnson Street to Olive Street under
Improvement Resolution No.I728.
In both of the above named resolutions, the Board hereby orders that
on the 8th., day of September, I926, this Board, at it's office in the City Hall
at 7-I5 P. ?`., will hear and receive all persons interested in or affected by said
resolutions. Board further orders that notices of said resolutions be published on
the 20th., day of August and on the 27th. , day of August. I9261 in the South Bend
Tribune and News Times.
City Engineer, T11r. TT. G. ',".'ray, filed plans and specifications and the
Board adopted the following resolutions:

Sewer on Twenty Second Street from Jefferson Blvd., to a point
365.75' north of the center line of '<".'ilson Street, beginning at the manhole in the
intersectionsof Jefferson Blvd., and Twenty Second Street, under Improvement
Resolution No.I726.
Grade, curb and walk on Sunnysi de Avenue from South Street to
Longfellow Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I729.
On both. of the above named resolutions, the owners waived all
objections on and in defense to any defect in said proceedings and to any violation
in the procedure for the constructions of said improvements. Therefore, the Board
received, opened and considered bids for same as follows
Sewer on Twenty Second Street under Improvement Resolution No.I726.

for the grade, curb and walk improvement on High Street from Ewing Avenue to Fairview
inaccordance with the terms of the contract between the City and Fred Corporan,
Contractor, under improvement resolution No.I590. Board approved and signed same i#
the amount of 649.36.
Mr. Ernest Young, Architect, and Yr. B. J. Engledrum, President
of the Board of S fty, appeared before the Board. Yr. Young submitting tabulations
on the bids for tge River Park Fire Station No.q. The Board. hereby, awards the
contract for the general contract work on said fire station No.9 to The Smoger
Lumber Co., at their low bid of I4,643.00. The Board, hereby, awards the contract
for the plumbing in said fire station No.9 to The United Heating and Plumbing Co.,
at their low bid of 1155,00. The Board, however, deferred the awarding of the
contract. for thq h6ating until investigation could be made on the low bidder,
Harry D. Perkins Co.
The Board approved the construction' of a drive for the Standard Oil
Co., at the corner of Division and Olive Streets.
