Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. TJ. -ll members present.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications and the Board
adopted the following Improvement Resolutions:
Pavement on South Street from the ''fvest line of `�'unnyside Avenue
to Longfellow Street under Improvement Resoluticn No.I725.
Pavement on Corby Street from Eddy Street to East Line of Park
Addition under Improvement Resolution No.I724.
The Board hereby orders, regard ing the above resolutions,
that on the Ist . , day of '�eptember, 1926, at 7-I5 P. P,' . , this Board, at its office
in the City Hall, will hear and receive all persons interested in said improvement
and will decide whether the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said
improvement will equal the estimated cost thereof. The Board further orders, that
notices of said hearing be published in the South Bend Trews Times and Tribune. on
the I3th. , day of August and on the 20th. , day of August, I926.
This being the date set, bids ,,-ere received, opened <nd read

filed august 3rd., I926, in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the
proceedings closed.
The Board approved the following iLaintai.nince or Guarantee Bonds:

The Albert Construction Co., for the pavement improvement on Carlisle
Street under Improvement resolution To.16IO.
Hearing had on the following Vacation ma's ses sment rolls:
Vacation of alley between lots 44 and 45 '`?orth Si,ore Terrace Addition under
Vacation Resolution No.I658.
Vacation of alley bordering west �ine of Lot 97 S. B. & Gary Land Co.rs
Addition from N. Line of Ualvert to S. Line of E. R 7.". alley North of Cplvert under
Vacation resolution No.1657.
In both of the above Assessment Rolls, the board finds that the benefits
to the property are equal to the damages and amounting to nothing and the Board,
therefore declares said roll, filed July 20th., I926, in all things ratiffied, confirmec
and apW oved and the proceedings closed.
Hearing also hed on the follwwing assessment rolls:
Sewer on "all Street under Improvement Resolution Yo.I646.
Sewer on Chester and I1.mer son Streets under Improvement Resolution No.I645.
In the above matters, the Board decides to continue hearing of said rolls
for one week., August I8th., I926.
City Engineer, 7.'r. u. G. 'Fray, filed the following assessment Rolls:
Pavement on LaSalle avenue from bunnyside ..venue to Greenlawn Avenue under
Improvement Resolution No.I65I.
Pavement on HRrriett Street from Jefferson Blvd., to Ti;"cKinley Street under
Improvement Resolution Fo.I650.
In the above matters, the Board hereby orders that on the I8th.. , day of
=August, I926, this Board at it's office in the City hall at 7-I5, will hear and
receive all persons interested in said roll or whose property i s affected by same, and.
will determine ivhether the benefits to property so assessed on said roll, are equal
to the cost of the improvements. Board further orders that notices of said hearing
• be published on the 13th., day of August and on the 14th., day of 1_ugust, 1926,
according to law.
City Fhgineer, 7r. u. G . .ray-; filed the f ollo ing report on the remonstranc4
against the Carroll Street Improve-eent under Resolution No.I698:
I2 resident property ovmers on this street; 7 of whom have signed the
remonstrance. This number constitutes a majority and the Board therefore recinds all
former action on said resolution and declares same null. and void and the proceedings
closed.
In the matter of the Almond Court grade, curb and walk Improvement, the
board hereby modifies the resolution, omitting the walk and leaving on the grade
and curb improvement to be made under contract.
Board signed ter_contract and approved the construction Bond of A. Spadoni
& Co., for th construction of a sewer on LaSalle -venue under improvement resolution
1tio.1696. Construction Bond executed by the standard i-ecident Insurance UO. , for
I001, of the amount of the contract., 1.969.80.
City Engineer filed Partial estimate No.4 for the grade, curb and walk
Improvement on Lincoln P rk in accordance with the terms of the contract between the
City and =1ex Bukowski, contractor. Board signed and arrpved same'in the amount of

pavement improvement on Yagnolia Street from Indiana =.venue to Prairie venue, under
Improvement Resolution No I6I7, in r ccordance with the terrors of the contract between
the City and Reith Riley �onstruci.tion Co. Board approved and signed same in the
amount of 5,952.44.
City Enginaer, Per. H. G. '".'ray, filed partial estimate No.2 for the
�I pavement improvement on Esther street, Bellevue i,venue, Ruskin `treet and Hildreth
�! Street, all in Bellevue =iddition, under improvement Resolution ho.I673, accordance
'I with the terms of the contract between-hhe ity and tteith Riley Construction Go.,
Uontractors. Board approved and signed same in the amount of I5,090.93.
City Engineer filed Partial estimate No.2 for the pavement improvement
on Oakside Street under Improvement resolution No.I609, in accordance with the terms off'
the contract between the city and Reith Riley onstruction Co., contractors. Board
approved and signed same in the amount of 5,640.50.

City Engineer, Mr. H. G. I"Tray, filed plans and specifications and
the Board adopted Improvement Resolution No.I723 for the pavement of Palmer Blvd.,
from East Line of Harriett Street to Nast line of a�adison Park addition.
In the above matter, the Board hereby sets the 61ghthday of
Septeipber, I926, as the time when said Board will meet in it 's office in the City
Ball and will hear and receive all persons interested in or affected by said improve-
ment resolution. Board further orders that notices of said he ering be published
according to law on the 20th., day of august and on the 27th., day of '.ugust, I926,
in the South Bend Tribune and News Times.
Upon the recommendation of 6m. F walls, the Board approved the
installation of a I000 lumen light at the alley on A-, len Stf'eet, between Lindsey
and Van Buren Street. Cost 22,00 per year.

Upon the recommendation of 7m. F. Qualls, the Board;. approved the
installation of a 4000 lumen light on Kemble Jvenue at the Donald Street entrance.
Cost 45.00per year.
Upon the recommendation of Tm. 1 Qualls, the Board afro -ved the
changing of the I000 lumen light at the corner of South. Bend Avenue and Turnock Street
j to a 4000 lumen light at an additional cost to t?-e city of 23.00, per year.
The Board approved the I,000.00 Boxd of Frank H. Szita for construction
work.
