This being the date set, hearings were had on the following Improvement
Resolutions:
Sewer on Colfax Avenue from Eddy Street to a. point 35 feet '"Test of the ',

Alley East of St. Peter to the third ,,lley East of St. Peter Street under Improvement
Resolution No.I708.
P,,vement on Lafayette Street from Angella _avenue Running East of

No.I699.
Pavement on Ah.gella "avenue from Leeper Avenue to a point 5.6 feet,,
West of the Esst right of way line of the Southern Yichigan R. R.J. under Improvement
resolution No.I700.
Pavement on Angella Avenue from Lafayette Street to the ",Test rail of
the Southern T,;Iichigan Railroad under Improvement Resolution No.I70I.
Pavement on Angella Avenue fro- Yarquette Avenue to Lafayette street
under Improvement Resolution No.I702.
Pavement on LaSalle Avenue from Main street to a point I7 feet `:test
of the East line of lot 4 in P."illers subdivision under Improver^ent Resolution
No.I703.
In a 11 of the above resolutions, no remonstrators appeared and no
written remonstrance was filed and the Board, therefore, decides that the property
liable to be assessed for said improvements will be benefited in the amounts as
named by the City Engineer in his estimates, and therefore, declares said resolutions
in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.

Hearing had the pavement Improvement for 'lmond Court from Notre Dame
izvenue to the first alley East of St. Peter Street under Improvement Resolution.
No. 17O9 .
In the above matter, remonstr,ato-k?s appeared but no written remonstrance
was filed. 1>fter hearing all persons interested in said improvement and finding
that there were 91xrproperty owners present in favor of the improvement and only
three against it, the Board decides to over rule the remonstrance. Board further
fines that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement
are equal to the estimated cost thereof, as estimated by the City Engineer, and
the Board therefore decides to 'sustain all former action of the resolution and
declare same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
Hearing had on the Improvement of Ford Street from Olive to Kaley Street
under Improvement Resolution No.I707.
In the above matter remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance
was filed and after hearing all persons interested in said improvement and finding!
that there were five property owners present in favor of the improvement with only
three against it, the Board decides to over rule the remonstrance. Board .further
11 .finals that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement
are equal to the estimated cost of same, as reported by the City I'ngineer, and
the Board, therefore, decides to sustain all former action on said resolution
and declare same in all things ratified, confirmed -nd approved.

Hearing had on the Improvement Of Carroll Street from Indiana Avenue
jj to Calvert street under Improvement Iesolution ??o.I698. it
In the above matter, remonstrators appeared but no written .remonstrance
was filed and after hearing all persons interested in said improvement and finding
f that there were six in favor of the improvement with only five against same, the
the Board decides to overrule the remonstrance. Board further finds that the
benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal
to the estimated cost of same, as reported by the �'ity Engineer, and the Board
therefore, decides to sustain all former action on said resolution and declare
same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.

Hearing had on the pavement of Lincoln '"ay "Vest from the Narth line of
LaSalle -venue to a point 7 feet :'est of the ''est line of, Lawndale °Avenue rtnning
Southerly from Lincoln lay lest, under Improvement F.'esolution No.I7O4.
Tayor C.I. TTontgomery appeared and gave a very interesting talk on this
proposed improvement. About thfr�ryproperty owners. were present, all against the
project of paving Lincoln '''.ay pest. after hearing the Ynyor's talk in favor
of thesimprovement of this m-in thoroughfare and being assured by the T.Tayor
and the Board that their wishes in this matter would be respected, the "Tayor
asked for a vote on the proposition of paving the street, widening same so as
to save the shade trees where ever possible, but withT.olding bids on the,.improvement
until early next `'pring. Twenty six property owners voted in favor of this
sulggestion of the Yayor and the Board, therefore, decides to sustain all former
action. on said resolution and finds that the benefits to the property liable
to be assessed for the improvement are equal to the estimated cost thereof, as
reported by the City. Engineer, and therefore, declares said resolution in all
things ratified, confirmed and approved,all,to _thesatisfe-etion of the entire
group of property owners present.

Sunnyside `venue, Thirtieth Street and Thirty Second Streets in P.Tonticello _Addition
in accordance with the terms ^f the contract between the City and Eston Ball under
Improvement Resolution No.1675. Board approved same and signed in the amount
of 3,3�4.26.
Partial estimate Yo.I for the grade, curb and walk improvement on the
East side of "ddy'Street from Bronson to Belmont tl,,enue, in accordanc with the
terms of the contract between the City and Eston Bn ll under Improvement Resolution

Po.I659. Board approved same and signed in the amount of 223.72.
The Board accepted the assignment of the contrnet for the construction
of a sewer on South Street under Improvement Resolution NoI649, from C.17. F-'eesh
to John F. Hipskind. Board also approved the construction bond of John F.
Hipskind s- fined by the Globe Indemnity Lo., for the --mount of the eontract,
479I.60 and cancelled the bond signed by the !�`etropol.itan gasualty Ins. Co.,
for the same amount.
Boy-,rd aceepted the assignment of the contract for the construction
!� of a sewer on Yonroe Street under Improvement Resolution No.1648 from C. E. Reesh

to John F. Hipskind. Board also approved the construction Bond of John F. Hipskind
Vednesday, �Tuly 28th., 1926.
signed by the Globe Indemnity Co., for the amount of the contract 5,455.90, and
cancelled the bond signed by the Yetropolitan Casualty Insurance o., for the same
amount.
City Engineer, 1"r. H. G. `;"ray, filed Assessment Rolls as
follows:
Local Sewer on ball Street under Improvement Resolution
No.I646.
Local Sewer on Chester & Emerson under Improvement Resolution
No.I645.
Pavement on Carlisle Street under Improvement Resolution
No.I6I0,
In all of the above assessment Rolls, the Board hereby orders
that on the IIth., day of t' ugust, I926, said Board, at their office in the City
Hall at 7-15 P. M. will meet to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons
or owners of property assessed for said improvements and will determine the question
whether such lots or parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts
named, -.-on said rolls or in a greater or less sum that than named on rolls. Board further
orders that :not -ices of said hearings be published according to la�vv in the News Times
end South Bend'Tribune.
Board approved the following claims and signed same in the
amounts as shown below;
