Pavement on Catalpa Avenue from Calvert Street to Ewing Avenue under Improvement
Resolution No.I69I.
In the above matter, the Board hereby fixes the 2Ist., day
of June 1926, as the time when Said Board will hear and receive all persons inter-
ested in or affected by said reolustions. Notices. of said hearing to be published
on the 2nd., day of July and on the nth., day of July, 1926, in the News Times
and Tribune.
' Petition from 1,7. D . T eeple. acting for Matthew Muzmich,
forejbuilding of sidewalk vaults to the curb line at the corner of Chapin and
Indiana Avenue filed. After due consideration, the Board decides to grant this
permission for the building if area ways in the side walks ace to a p point only
six feet back from the existing curb line, which will reserve -a space for a
�i future under ground utility construction. Clerk ordered to so advise Yr. Teeple.

This being the date set the Board made the following
awards of contract:
No petitions ?having been filed for the change of type of
pavement other than that specified in the preliminary award, the Board hereby
awards the contract for the pavement of lilgrriett Street from Jefferson Blvd.,
to ?�Tishawaka _avenue under Improverent Resolution Yo.I654, to The !.`illiston
Construction Co., at their low bid of 48,9I0.25 for Sheet asphalt.
Petitions hPving been filed for a change of type of pavement
other than that specified in the nrelimirary order for the pavement of
Campeau Street under Improvement Peso 1-lzt ion RTo.I6559 the P.rgineer made
the following report:
There are 33 bonified resident free holder signatures on this
street, I8 of whom have signed for sheet aspha.l.t, leaving I5 signatures for
concrete pavement.
There being; a ms jority of 3 signatures in favor of sheet
asphalt, Yr. ':"ray reco~r!*ends that the final order on tb.is resolution, be
for the same type of pavement as specified in the preliminary order and
th-e. Board hereby awards said contract to The ;.l.bert Construction Co.,
at their low bid of 29,AAtO.915 for sheet asphalt.

Board hereby awards contract for the above improvement to Hoban
and Roach contractors at their bid of 2,876.25.
Upon the recommendation of "V'Tr. Yoomaw, the Board approved the raise
in salary of Edward LaFortune, e l.ectrical inspector, to T35.00 a month, e f f eEtive
from June I5th., 1926.
Upon the recommendation._ of °''gym. F malls, the Board approved the
i� placement cf 6000 lumen light at the �'orner of Lincoln '_ay Last and Fldora Court.

II installation of. a 4000 lumen light at the corner of Prast Blvd., and BAndix. Drive.

installation of a 4000 lumen light at the corner of Bale and B.,oluman Streetu. Same
ordered.
Upon the recommendation of "Im. F. ^ugl.l s i the Board approved the
installation of a. 6000 lumen light at the corner of Cplfax and Sun.nyside ;ivenues.
Same ordered.

the following Improvement Resolutions:
Sewer on LaSalle Avenue from Eddy Street to a point IO feet `.'est of

No.I696.
Sewer on St. Peter Street from '.''syne Street to alley south of

In all of the above matters, the poard hereby orders that on July
21st., I926, at the office of the Board of Public = or'ks in the City Hall, this
Board will hear and receive all persons interested in said improvements or whose
property is liable to assessed for same.
Boad further orders that notices of said bearing be pu.biisred
in the South Bend News Times and Tribune on July 27rd., I926 and on July $th. ,
I9261 according to law.
