Hearing had. on Condemnation Resolution No.. 96 for the Opening of Harriett Street from Mishawaka Avenue to north right of way of the Grand. Trunk Western Railroad, in the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed. The Board therefore declare the above described property in all things condemned and appropriated for public use, The Engineer was instructed to make up the roll for the assessment for benefits and the awards of damages atxaxmz of all owners or holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be taken or to be injuriously affected, which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected. Addition, under Improvement Resolution'No. 1514 Filed Nov. 18th., 1925 Concrete pavement on alley between Riverside Drive and Woodward Avenue to Yukon Avenue under Improvement Resolution No., 1547 Filed December 1,1925. 'I Sewer on South Street from Eddy Street to Sunnyside Avenue, i under Improvement Resolution No. 1571. Filed December lst., 1925. Grading of alley north of North Shore Drive from Iroquois Street to Lafayette Street, under Improvement Resolution No.1492, Filed December 1st,, 1925. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written remonatrance was filed. , The Board therefore rind that the property assessed in said rolls filed Nov. 18th., 1925, Nov. 24th., 1925, and December 1st., 1925 .s benefitted in the amounts at shown on said rolls, and the Board further fin&- that the assessments rolls filed Nov. 18th., 24th. and December 1st., 1925 and the final estimates allowed Nov. 18th., 24th., and December lst., 1925 should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed- and approved. Division Street petitioned the Board for permission to build a marquise over sidewalk at entrance to theatre building at 2220 W. Division Street this City. Petition not granted. I; Bids were received, opened and read for the printing of the Annual Report for the year 1925. Bids were submitted by Mirror Press, Peerless Press, Peterson Press,-Hibberd Printing Co. McClave Printing Company. Referred to L. P. Hardy and he is requested to have same tabulated and. reported to the Board. j� Dedication of Streets and alleys in Proposed Plat of J. E. Walz's Addition presented which was approved by the City Planning Board under date of and approved this 16th. day of December 1925, I Fred Vd. Keller and L. S. Whitcomb before the Board in re planking of Sunnyside Avenue and the Grand Trunk Western Railway Company, also the paving, curb sna dwalk on Strnnyside Avenue. Clerk instructed to write to Agent and Attorney ;for the Grand Trunk Western Railway Company ordering grossing planked. Contract with Eston Ball for the grade, curb and walk on East side of 'Eddy Street from Grand Trunk Western R. R. Company to Bronson Street as provided in .improvement Resolution No. 1599 adopted November llth., 1925 signed and construction ;bond in the sum of $548.00 with the Maryland Casualty Company as sureties approved, ;and bond and contract ordered filed. the following report filed by Wm. F. Qualls, Supt. of Lights, and approved as follows: December 14th., 1925. TO the Honorable Board of Pablie Works. Gentlemen - The attached petition callsfor boulevard lights in the lineoln Manor District, apparasntly with the idea that this style of light is furnished, upon request, at the expense of the City. As this is an expense to be born by the property owners I am unable to report on the application as stated.' However, there are no lights on any of the streets in this district and it is consequently dark. I am of the opinion that one 4000 lumen light, placed on City property at the junction of Bonds Avenue and Hartzer Street, will sufficiently illuminate the present built-up section for the time being. The nearest are light is located on Lincoln Way West and Mead Street but in such a position, due to thejog in the Street, that it does not illuminate Mead Street through this district, I am attaching a blue print of this district showing location of nearest are light and location recommended for new are light.
