T'-Ie City Engineer reported to the Board, that the hand rail,on the Sample St.
bridge is in a very hazardous condition. This condition has existed for a number of
years and has continued to become worse because of improper maintenance. The `:lest
abutment although not hazardous, s-ould be repaired in the very near future. Frost
action has damaged the abutment.
An estimate of the cost, submitted b;;T a local contractor, to repair the bridge
amounts to core than w12,000.00. Upon -notion duly made, seconded and unanimously
carried, the Board authorized the engine_-r to obtain other estimates from engineering
contractors, relative to the cost of re_airing and the advisibility of repairing the
bridge, as compared with the construction of a r_e:v bridge, and to contact the County
Coryr.issi oners, should the constru3-1. i cn of a ne',r bride be reco �wiended.

TRAFFIC C0112;.ISSION: A petition was received as'Lin- that the shrubs be remove-' or cut
down at street intersections in the ciinley School district. This petition was
turned over to 'Mr. Er nest ?':`iller for investi ation and rei ort.
ENGTN'"- RING DEPA}=.Tid=T: A continuation or veril i caticn certificate on the excavation
bond for Peter Schumacher & Sons, Ind. was received, approved and ordered
filed.
CEI.IETE'RV DEP"'T1,!E11T: Hr. Lisle I -Nabb, Sexton, informed the Board that the other
cergetcries in the City were raising the prices on rough 'cox and vault burials, due
• to increased prices of material and labor. The Board instructed P,7r.-McNabb to obtain
letters from other agencies signifying their intention to raise their prices and presen
these letters before the Board at the next meeting.
