All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Co., to cut back the curb on W . Tflayne St., just west of La Fayette St... was denied. .On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted, that cut backs into curbs for diagonal and perpendicular parking will not be granted unless it is shown to be clearly for the benefit of the public in general. A continuation certificate on the bond for the Sollitt Constr. Co., was received. This certificate arras approved and ordered filed. On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following resolution w s adopted, that the heads of all City Departments, a representative of the W.P.A., Of the State Highway Commission and of the County Highvray Commission be informed of the following rule of procedure set up by the City Water Works and ordered to make` the reports therein required. Said rule reads as follows: • • • • MEETING -- MARCH 31, 1941 0 171 • • "Any department or organization using a Fire Hydrant, must make, a written report of the use of that hydrant to the City Water Works immediately." The Clerk of the Board was directed to notify these departments and organizations of this order, ELECTRIC DEPARTITENT: Mr. L. L. Thompson, Agent for the Grank Trunk Railroad Co., appear- ed before the Board with reference to removing some of the street lights at the, crossing of the Grand Trunk Railroad tracks and the streets which intersect same. Mr. Qualls, Mr. Ernest Miller and Mr. Thompson decided to inspect these intersections after dark and make a report of their findings to the Board. The report of Mr. Qualls with reference to the petition for a street light at the intersection of Vine and 30th Sts., was accepted, Nir, Qualls does not recommend a light at this intersection. ENGINEERING DEPARTIIENIT: 1,Affiereas a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon_ is now presented to the Board, known as FOREST PARK FIRST SUBDIVISION. • This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and Safety in Row #21, Drawer #4, File # , and recorded in Book # /.- Pagg e #,7- in the Recorders Office of St. Joseph County. NOW, THE_EFO-FE' be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of South Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public placed dedicated to the public use in said plat, are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
