MEETING -- MARCH 10, 1941
A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, March 10, .1941 a
9:00 A. IV% All members were present. Minutes of -the last meeting were read and approve..
Salary claims in the amount of $6060.45 were approved and ordered paid. Claims of the
following suppliers in the amount of $7763.13 were approved and ordered paid.

STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Tony lmudzinski, Street Commissioner was present and matters
pertaining to his`department were discussed.
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Continuation certificate for the excavation bond of Charles
R. Doran was received. This certificate was approved and ordered filed.
The Board approved the plans for the approach to the entrance of the Morris Country
Club.
ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: A letter from the Pennsylvania Railroad advised that they had
instructed t.e HETana-%+Iichigan Elec. Co. to install a 4000 lumen light at the inter-
section of their tracks and Ecan St. This light to be maintained by the railroad
company.
CEIuIETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Lisle McNabb, Sexton, filed his report for the month of Feb-
ruary, 1941.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned
at 11:00 A.

ENGINEERING IS ;PkuREMENT: k let -ter 'vJas received from Clyde E. Wi 3 1 i ams, City Civil
Engineer, advising that the local sewer on Country Club Lane has been completed,
inspected by the City Engineering Department and they recommend that this sewer
be accepted. The Board hereby accepts this sewer as per the recommendation of the
City Civil Engineer.
The Board approved the grade established by the Engineering Department on Evergree
Lane,
DEDICATION
1,17IEREAS, the following described plat with d.edicat-ion of streets and alleys
indicated thereon is now presented to the Board
Dollar Lake, First Subdivision is located in the ,Vest ,half (2 ) of the Northeast
Quarter HD of Section Twenty-nine (29), Township Thirty-seven (37) North, Range Two

(2) East, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the northeast quarter (":-') of Section Twenty-
nine (29), To.vnship thirty-seven (37) North, Range T:�ro (2) East, thence south Twenty-
two hundred and twenty (2220) feet, thence East three hundred and thirty-seven (337)
feet; then north nine hundred and twenty-four (924) feet, thence East, Nine hundred
and eighty and thirty-seven hundredths (980.37) feet to the East line of the '{Vest
half (�) of the Northeast Quarter (1) of said Section Twenty-nine (29 ); thence north
twelve hundred and P,Tinety-six (1296) feet to the North line of Section twenty-nine (29 )
thence ';lest, thirteen hundred and twenty and six tenths (1320.6) feet to the place of
beginning.
The sizes of the lots and the widths of the streets are indicated on the plat in
feet. The streets a-ne hereby dedicated to the public for public use.

tions, to -wit:
The Grantees covenant and agree for themselves, their heirs and assigns;-
1 - That they wi-1 not erect any building on any lots in violation of the "set -back`
or building lines shown on the plat of the sub -division, and that . thel-,, will not erect
thereon an7T building closer than five (5) feet from side lot lines other than street
lines.

2 - That no garage -house or other building for residence purposes that shall cost less
than One Thousand Five Hundred ($1500) Dollars shall be constructed closer than One
Hundred and fifty (150) feet froni the -front lot line of an.T lot.
3 = That there shall not be placed or constructed Moon any lot any building to be used
as' a dTrelling rhether temporary or ezm.,anent unless such building shall be of wood,
brick, stone or concrete construction and have a rood of other design than a flat or

4 - No lot or lots shall be excavated for the sale of gravel or used as a junk yard
• or' for automobile tiFrrec':ing, nor shall any budding erected thereon be used as a road-
house, -public dance hall or for the sale of intoxicating liquor.
5 - That no part of said premises shall either be conveyed or leased to or occupied
by pe-sons of other than the white or Caucasian race'.
The foregoing conditions and restrictions May be enforced by injunction or other
legal procedure in the event of any vuilation' of; any one or more of there by either
the grantors or any of the owner or owners of anzT other lot in said subdivision.

NO"H THEREFORE, be it resolved by the ward of Public 'Norks and Safety, of South Benc
Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and -public places dedicated to the public use
in said plat, are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the
City df South Bend, Indiana.
A petition for the vacation of the alle 1lorth of Colfax Ave., from :Mill St. East
to the alley East of Hill St., was received �rom Rev. >'rendell P. Corcoran. This peti-
tion .,,as turned over to the City Plan Commission for investigation and report.
ELECTIRIC DEPARU.,TENT: It was moved, seconded and unanimously adopted that the report
of Mr. Qualls, on tHe petition for a street light at the corner of Dundee and Huron
St. be accepted. Mr. Qualls does not approve of an additional light at this inter-
section. A copy of this report was sent to Councilman Vim. Pulaski.
TRAFFIC C01,RUSSIGN: A petition was received from Smith -Monroe Co., to cut back .the
curb in front of their place of business. This petition was turned over to Mr. Ernest
Miller, Traffic Engineer for investigation and report.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned
