A regular meeting of the
Board of Public Works was held on Tuesday,
September,
17, 1940 at 9:00 A. M. Two members
were present, Mr. Driggs being absent. Minutes
of the last meeting were read
and approved. Additional salary claims in

of $102.53 were approved and
ordered

STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Tony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner was present and matters
pertaining to his department were discussed.
• ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A petition was received asking that the alley East of Chapin
St.,and West of Kendall St., from Calvert St.,to Donald St., be improved by paving.
This petition was referred to the Engineering Department for investigation.
MEETING -- SEPTEMBER 17, 1940
A contractorts bond was received for John Rose and John T. Carter, in the amount of
$1000.00, which bond was approved and ordered filed.
WEIGHTS & MEASURES: Mr. Charles J. Burns presented his report for the week ending
September 16, 1.940.
ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: On the recommendation of Mr. Qualls, the Board approved the in-
stallation of two 2500 lumen boulevard lights on the North side of Western Ave., from
Main St., west to the alley.
Also, the installation of 4000.1umen light at the intersection of College and
Bergen Sts., and a 2500 lumen light at the intersection of Marquette Blvd., and Brook-
field St.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned
at 11:45.

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, September 23,
1940, at 9:00 A. M. Two members were present, Mr. Harry S. Driggs being absent.

STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Tony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner was present and matters
pertaining to his department were discussed.
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Plans were submitted by J. J. DeGrove for remodeling the
building at 1019 E. Corby St., which remodeling will cause an additional encroachment or
city property beyond the property line. These plans were approved subject to the
conditions of a waiver signed by the owner Ben Plotkin and wife, executed and filed by
the Board on the 21st day of May, 1930, which waiver can be found in the minutes of the
,.Board of' Works in Book #15, page #103.
Plans for cutting a driveway in front of the property located at 215 S. La Fayette
St., occupied by the Moulder Motor Co., were approved by the Board.
A continuation certificate on the bond for Charles E. Emmons was received, which
certificate was approved and ordered filed.
ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: A light has been installed on 29th St., between Pleasant St., and
