BUILDING DEPARTNIENT: Mr. Healy of the Healy Sigh Co.,1241 S. Michigan St. has applied to the Building Commissioner for permit to install signs on the railroad viaduct at 1rlichigan Street, for the purpose of advertising the Studebaker Out -door Show. The Studebaker Corporation has obtained permission from the railroad company to install such signs, and an appeal having been made to the Board of Public Works and Safety from the Building Commissioner, the Board herewith authorizes the Building Commissioner to grant the Mealy Sign Co., a permit for the installation of temporary signs on the railroad viaduct at ?:.Iichigan Street, for the purpose of advertising the Studebaker Out -door Show. 11r. Mealy is requested to obtain a copy of the letter from the railroad company granting the Studebaker Corporation pernission.to install said signs on the viaduct, to be filed with this mBnorandun. That under the Dlans submitted to his department, the pilasters on the l ichigan and Jefferson Blvd. sides, which now extend beyond`�the building line onto the sidewalk will be removed, and a request has been _made to issue a permit to build a belt course approximately 7t high along the building, eleven feet above the sidewalk, on which will be placed appropriate signs advertising the business establishunent to be located in the building. `The belt course will encroach upon the public property at that height'ap,proximately 2-1/21'. It is moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the Building Commissioner be authorized to issue a permit in accordance with such plans.
