MEETING -- F BRUARY 5, 1940
A regular meeting of the Board of Public ;forks was held on TvTonday, February 5, 1940
at 9:00 A. LT. All members were present. :.Kinutes of the last meeting were read and
approved. Claims of the following suppliers in the amount of $511.98 were approved
and ordered paid.

department was discussed.
It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that Ivlr. Zmudzinsr'i be authorized
to purchase from the Indiana State Prison, one hundred (100) sets of street signs,
less posts, for street designating purposes.
The Street Commissioner was also authorized to pt:i?chase, one (1 } Standard #70
Oliver Tractor at A867.30, as per proposal submitted August 4th, 19590 (See file on
J_ for copy of proposal.)
The following named gentlemen, representatives of various taxi -cab and city bus
companies, were called into a meeting with the Board by R:fr. Ernest VTiller, Traffic
Engineer, to discuss the various traffic and -parking problems connected with their
business.

Independent Cab Co., 7. A. Hahn, Northern I11diana Ry. Co., and Bert Liss, Indiana
Cab_ Co.
The various problems were discussed and I:Ir. Miller, Traffic Engineer was instructed
by the Board to wopk with these gentlemen in order" that some satisfactory solution of
these_, problems might be reached.
MMINEERIi1IOw 'DEPAI"R'TR_V1 lT-i Contractor's bond was received from the Continental Casualty
for the Oliver Farm Equipment Co;, which :ras approved and ordered filed.
There being no further business to come wefore'the Board, the meeting adjourned. at
10:30 A. Y.
