Fredericks and Delbert MlcNabb. -/A petition signed by approximately 300 property owners adld ng for bus service on South Michigan Street beyond the present terminal of streetcar line to Kern Road was filed. The i;iatter'was referred to the Engineer who shall take it up with the northern Indiana Railway Co. Inc. �A petition to improve Taylor Street from Calvert to Ewing by the Construct -on of pavement with Concrete by W.P.A.,_ the cost of materials not to exceed 11.00 per square yard :;was received. The petition was referred to the Engineer i9or investigation and report. A communication was received from J. Sherburne Elfner, Asst. Supt. of the Dept. of Publics Parks " relative to trimming trees in parkway areas in the vicinity of 30th and Vine Streets. The matter was.taken under consideration. It was reported to the Board that in accordance with statute and under ordinance of the city of South Bend, the Board had accepted the appointment of appraisors by the Honorable Judge of St.Joseph Circuit Court for the purpose of appraising the value of certain personal property obtained by the city in connection with the removal of certain streetcars and streetcar rails and the substitution of bus service. It was reported that the Court had appointed,appraisors; that the appraisors had viewed and appraised the property and there was submitted to the Board an executed and sworn copy of the • 0 0 0 C] • • 477 -- - _ said appraisal. The appraisal was considered by the Board and'motion was duly harried that the report of the a_ppraisors be accepted and filed. Vdilli"mns era's authorized by the Board to contact all persons known to him who might have an interest in the purchase of said personal property. A copy of the appraisal is attached hereto. STREET 121-.ARTMENT: Mr. Zmudzinski was present and matters pertaining to his departmentwere discussed. %Ir., Zanudzinski• reported that the, terrace on Twyckehhaa give at Lincoln School was in bad condition causing considerable work by the Street Department in cleaning the walk after each rain. The Engineer was authorized to contact the Maintenance Supt. of theSchool City relative to improving the terrace. Vl�?. Zmudzinski was authorized to provide a -truck for the street cleaning crew and also a man physically able to operate the truck. A rir. Zmudzinski turned over to the Clerk of the Board 03.00 which he received for i' the use of the grader for grading property owned by the Westinghouse Electric Company. r. 7rudzin:ski turned over tot he Controller $244.00 for the third car of oil and reported accounts outstanding in the amount of $72.50. The Clerk of the Board was in- i structted to issue statements to .the persons oaring, this amount. . �Mr. Marry Verkar submitted:pla.ns for reconstruction of a filling station and drive- ways at the 'ntersection of Diamond avenue and Eincolhway 'West. The plans were approved conditionally upon the construction of not more than a 25 feet driveway on Lincbinway West -aid dimension bezn- at the intersection of driveway with the public walk.
