All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Ralph Keller presented a plat for the Town of Wilmette Park Second Addition, which was approved by the Board. Wilmette Park Second Addition comprises and is described as follows: DEDICATION OF THE TOWN. OF WILMETTE PARK SECOND ADDITION The annexed plat of the Town of Wilmette Park, Second Addition, in St.Joseph County, Indiana, is laid out and platted on the following described tract of land, situated in said County and State, Section No. 32, Tomship 38, North, Range No. 3, East, to -wit: Beginning at a point 30 feet West of the Northwest corner of Lot 145 in the Town of Wilmette Park, in St. Joseph County, Indiana; thence East 299 feet to the Northeast corner of said lot 145; thence North 29.2 feet; thence East 324 feet along the North line of lot 144 in the Town of Wilmette Park and 104 feet East of the Northeast corner of said lot 144; thence South 191 feet; thence East 55 feet; thence North 191 feet; thence East 269 feet; thence North 57.5 feet; thence East along the North line of lots 146, 147 and 148 in the Town of Wilmette Park, 323 feet to the land described in deed recorded in Deed Record 203, Page 631; thence North 762.8 feet; thence 'Nest 1269.7 feet; thence , South 849 feet to the place of beginning. The Streets indicated on said plat are hereby dedicated to the public for highway purposes.) RESOLUTION WHEREAS, a contract has been let for the collection and disposal of garbage for the city of SouthBend, which contract expires on the 31st day of December, 1939; and �VVHtREAS, it is necessary and desirable to enter into a new contract for the collec- tion and disposal or disposal only of garbage in the city of South Bend for a period of five years, beginning January 1, 1940; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to determine the amount of said contract prior th the fixing of the budget for 1940; NOW.. THEREFORE, be it resolved, by the Board of Publie'ldorks and Safety that plans and specifications be adopted and placed on file for said garbage collection contract for a period of five years, beginning January 1, 1940, and that the Clerk advertise for sealed proposals in accordance with said specifications; said sealed proposals to be filed on or before the 17th day of July, 1939, at 9:00 A.M., at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The following notice was ordered published in the South Bend Tribune on the 5th and 12th days of July, 1939: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the Board of Public 4orks and Safety at the offices of said Board in the City Hall in the city of South Bend, Indiana, at nine otclock on the 17th day of July, 1939, for the execution of a contract for the following work: 1. For the weekly collection and disposal of garbage for the city of South Bend, Indiana; 2. For the weekly collection and disposal of garbage except during the months of June, July, August andSeptember of each year, and the bi-weekly collection and dis- posal of garbage during said time. 3. For the disposal of garbage only. Detailed specifications for the collection and disposal of garbage, under the three alternate plans above set forth, for the city of South Bend, Indiana, are now on file and may be seen in the office of the Board at the City Hall. The Street Commissioner was ordered to place a barricade in the alley abetween Dubail and Dayton Streets west of Dale Street at Bowman Creek. ,The Engineer was authorized to purchase a second-hand truck to be used to supplant the present bomb truck which is being used for IX.P.A. service to be paid for out of W.P A. funds.
