SPECIAL MEETING--FEBRUARY 2811939
The Board, in special session, Tuesday, February 29, 1939, at 11:30 A.T,�., entered
into an agreement to purchase ten (10) 12 ton dual tired trucks, two (2) with chassis
only, and eight (8) with pourer operated hydra=.ulic dump bodies. The total cost of this
eauipnent amounted to %0,951.20.
✓ An agreement was also entered into to purchase special dump and hydraulic hoist
equipment at a total cost of G2980.00 from the n. C. Larkin Company of Chicago, Ill.
to be installed upon the two chassis.
/ Due to a request for additional trucks for city sponsored `�. F.A. projects and also
due to the dilapidated condition of the Street Department trucks, the Board has con-
sidered the purchase of new trucks.for the Street Depart.r_ent and the use of the Street
Department trucks on 01.P.A.projects. Proposals were obtained from Scherman-Schaus-
T:=reeman Company, Holycross & %kye, Bogda, Inc., and the International Harvester Company.
These proposals were presented to all members of the Council and a request made for ad-
vice as to where the .:purchase should be made, if it was agreeable with the Council to
purchase the eq ipnent.
✓ Copies of all bids received are on file in the office of the Board of Public 'Works.
The purpose of the meeting having been accomplished, the meeting adjourned at
12 : 00 Tu.
