-'Regular meeting of the Board of Public 4orks was held on Tuesday, Dec. 27th, et
to:oo A. M. All members were present. Mr. George Beamer and Mr. Harry Driggs were present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Claims from the following
suppliers in the amount of $1013.00 were approved and ordered paid; also, payroll for
the various Departments in the amount of $3312.418,

This being the date set -for hearing of Vacation Resolutions No. 2.491, 2492, and
2493, same being Vacation of an alley south of Oakside Street, Vacation of an alley -
south of Eckman Street and Alley East of Erskine Blvd, and Vacation of an alley south
of Irvington Avenue and Alley East of Erskine Blvd ,respectively. There, being no remon-
strances and no remonstrances being filed, these Resolutions were approved by the Board
and ordered referred to the Engineering Department for. the purpose of_ compiling assess-
ment roll showing benefits and damages. Mr. C. A. Perkins was present.
`./The matter of purchasing new city scales was discussed, revised bids having been
received from The Howe Scale Company and The Fairbanks -Morse Co., and it was decided
by the hoard that Mr. Burns, City Sealer, will be authorized to purchase new scales if
the hew -Board recommends that they be purchased with the understanding by the Sealer
that 'he material cannot be paid for until 1940.

Burke were, received, and approved by the Board.
VThe matter of purchasing new traffic signals to replace the over -head signals
now in use was discussed with Mr. John Gibbons, Secy. of Safety Division of the
Association of Commerce, and it was decided by the Board that. -Mr. Qualls, Electrical
Superintendent, will be authorized to purchase new signals if the new Board recommends
that they be purchased with the understanding by the Superintendent and the seller
that the material cannot be paid for until 1940.
