(Regular meeting of the Board of` -Public 'forks was heldon Monday, Oct. 241 at
10:30 A. M. All members were present Minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved,

Industrial Union Council regarding -the,-transpo-rtation of , children to schools they
are now attending --.due to- the discontinuance of- Pulaski School, was referred to the
School Board for -attention. -
•Continuation Certificate covering Contractor'-s bond in favor of Carl J. Reinke
which was approved by the Board - and -filed with the original bond.
'/Petition signed by a considerable number -'of -residents and taxpayers, requesting
that East MayneStreet . from- Eddy --to- Greenlawn Avenue -be designated as a boulevard
and that the -trucks -and heavyvehiclesbe restricted:- This matter was -referred to
the City Traffic Engineer fo-r-investigation-8nd recommendation.
A request was received for th-e -establ-ishment -of--a street light at Philippa and
Indiana Avenue This matter was-- di-scu-ssed with Mr:. -Qualls and it was decided trLat
in this particular- area- there was sufficf ent illumination and that this request
• could not be granted at this- time. _-

a street light- at Adams and Liston --Streets. The -matter -was -referred to Mr. Qualls

for investigat-tom and-. recommendation. -

considering -this matter the Board referred -it -to Mri, Qualls for investigation and
recommendation.

In the above named assessment t roll the Board hereby orders that on the 2Bth
day of November, 1938, it will meet in the City Hall at 10:30 A. M. to hear and receive
remonstrances from all persons interested in or" affected by said Vacation Resolution
No. 2497, and the Board furt1er orders -that antices of said hearing be advertised in two
newspapers in South Bend on :November 16th and November Ukd, 1938, and that notices
together with the amount of damages awarded and benefits assessed be -addressed to the
property owners according to law. --
