All members were present. j Minutes of the previots meeting were read and approved. Qualls submitted a report of the result of his investigation of a pet- � ition for the re-establishment of a. light on post No. 944 on Riverside Drive, and u recommended that this petition be not granted. The Board concurred in this report and the petition is filed in the office of the Board of Public Works. ,1 ✓Mr. Qualls submitted the result of his investigation of a petition for the erec- tion of a street light at 33rd and mall Street and recommended that a 1000 lumen light be installed at a cost of $19.80 per year. The Board concurred in this report and re- quested Mr. Qualls to instruct the Indiana Michigan Electric Company to make the in- stallation at the earliest possible moment. !! u ✓ Mr. Qualls reported upon the petition for a street light at.the corner of Dunham and Camden Streets and after a thorough investigation recommended that the petition be not granted. The Board concurred.in this report and the petitioners were so noti- fied. A petition was presented by property owners on E. Paris Street, askt as -king for e, turning of brick on said street and repairing old sewer outlets and installing new ones where necessary. This petition was referred to the Street Department for atten- tion. II Mr. Longenecker submitted his report of activities of the Cemetery Department for �! the month of July, showing receipt of $504.509 of which $352.00 is for perpetual care. it The Chamberlain Metal Vjeather Strip Company submitted a quotation for calking the entire perimeter of all frames in masonry work at Fire Station No. 8. A price of $35.00 was quoted. The Board approved this and ordered the work done. i .11 ✓ It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the City Engineer be auth- orized to purchase sewer pipe for a WPA project to lay sewer on Washington Street from Taylor Street to Scott Street. �A communication was received from Vera Benson, asking for the installation of a street light on Mishawaka Avenue and Wall Street, also to grade alley west of 27th Street. These matters were taken up with the various Departments for investigation. I Mr. F. J. Anderson filed primary assessment roll, showing awards of: -damages and � assessment of benefits in the matter of Condemnation of an alley east of Frances Street from St. Vincent Street to the alley north of St. Vincent Street, same bbing Condemna- tion Resolution No. 2496.
