M. All member were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were "read and approved. Claims from the follow- ing suppliers inthe amount of $71-1.23 were approved and ordered- paid. Chevrolet Company 11.25 �Indiana Lumber & MfgCo. 72.59 Elkhart Brass Manufacturing Co. 6.97 Willette Service Station 46.06 Mr. Quails reported upnn, a petition for the establishment of a street light at Johnson Street and MarU�uette _kvd. , :stating that this section needed a light very badly and recommended a 4000 lumen light be installed. The Board concurred in this report and instructions, were issued to have the work done at once. ✓ Mr. R.-R. Smith and W. W. Waterzon of the Northern Indiana Railway Company were present at the Board to discuss the removal of street cars and car tracks on Washing- ton from Main Street west, Chapin Street and Prairie Avenue with the idea of installing bus routes, "'After a full discussion of the matter, the.Board upon regular motion sec- onded and carried, ordered the Northerin .Indiana Railway Company .,ta vacate as soon as possible these thoroughfaresandinstall bus lines. Mr. Smith proposed that this would be done by approximately August 15 eua the Board therefore ordered him to bring in a complete survey together with copies of an agreement for final execution. /A petition signed by approximately 25 residents requested the installation of a: street light on the corner of Dunham and Camden Streets. This matter was referred to IMr. Am. Qualls for investigation and recommendation. A petition signed by 22 residents requested the improvement of north and south °all- ey between Chapin and Kendall fromDubail to Oliver by grading, The matter was refer - .red to the Engineering Department _for investigation and recommendation as to whether this could be done under a W. P. A. project. i _/Suret.y- Bond of Contractor in favor of Arthur G. Keltner in the Fidelity and Depost Company of Maryland was approved by the Board. Meeting adjourned at 11:30 A. M. I 0
