DeFrees, Inc. 31.50 fA petition was presented for the improvement of an alley between Brookfield. and Grant Streets in the 600 block. This matter was referred to the Street Department, for investigation and attention. VA. petidon was presented asking for the installation of a street light at the cor- ner of Bissell and Walsh or Jacob Streets. The matter was referred to the Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation. ✓A petition was presented asking for the installation of a street light -at, the intersection of Sunnyside 'and Cedar Streets. This matter was referred to Mr. Qualls for investigation and recommendation. 11A petition originally presented to the Comrion Council was referred to the Board asking for the improvement of Poland Street from Clive to Kaley Streets by grading and. graveling under a W.P.A. project. This matter was referred to the Street Depart- ment for investigation and recommendation. 1"TIIr. William Longenecker submitted his report of activities of the Cemetery Depar ment for the'month of April showing collections made in the amount of $4,146.89, of which $3,716.39 is for perpetual care. ✓Mr. (walls submitted a request from the Indiana'aichigan Electric Coiipany ask- ing permission to rebuild the manhole located at the east end of Jefferson Street bridge in the sidewalk area on the south side of Jefferson Street. Upon favorable recommendation of Mr. Qualls permission was granted and the Indiana Michigan Electri Company was so notified. ✓ Mr. QuAlls submitted a communication from the Indiana lv ichigan Electric Company with reference to the billing of a traffic signal at ruestern Avenue and Main Street to the State Highway Commission, it having been removed from the billing to the City. Due to the fact that this intersection is not on State nighwway, the Board authorized the change and instructed the Indiana ulichigan Electric Company to add to the City16 billing in the future. `Continuation Certificate of Excavation bond in favor of J. Fred Christman in the Continental Casualty Company was approved by the Board. ✓Contractor's Bond in favor of Earl Van Kirk in the Columbia Casualty Company was approved by the Board. ,/Mr. Frederick J.
