M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Claims from the following suppliers in the amount of $270.12 were approved and ordered paid, elso.payroll of the Street Department in the amount of $781.50. ECTRICAL DEPARTMENT- Mr. walls present: Matters pertaining to theoperation of the Electrical Department were discussed with Mr. Qualls. Mr. Qualls submitted a report with reference to Taffic Signals lo- cated.on.State Highways and showed an estimate of cost of maintenance.;of $3.66 per day to which must be added the cost of replacing materials andequipment. This report is on file'in the office of the Board of Works. Mr. Walter Schneider submitted a blue -'print for a Service Stafi-on at the north- ,est coVner of LaSalle and Lincoln Way West for the Socony Vacuum Oil Company,- This rint was approved by the Board and a copy placed on file in the office of the Board of Public Works. 1,Mr. Walter Schneider submitted a blue print for a service station at the,south- east -corner of Michigan and Monroe for the Socony Vacuum Oil Company. This print as approved by the Board and a copy placed on.file in the office of tb.e:Board of blic Works. i / Excavation Bonds in favor of Harvey E. Malott a.nd�O. J. Shoemaker were approved by the Board. I ✓ Continuation Certificates covering Excavation Bonds in favor of J. L. Taylor sand Will iam;Otterstein & Son were approved. City Traffic Engineer Miller -reported that the Blake Wallpaper Company while loading material at their plant very often block Summers Court so that -vehicles cannot pass. The Board gave instructions to notify these people to discontinue this at.once and to comply with a letter written them on Sept. 29th whereinit is requested hat they submit a plan for unloading at this point. A request was received from H. A. Woolverton to change the lighting system on East IJefferson Boulevard. This communication was referred to Mr. Qualls for inves- _gation and report at the next meeting. he meLetltg was adjourned at 11:00 A. M.
