MEETING ' October 25,1937
Regular meeting of the -Board -of Public Works was held on Monday,
October 25,
1937) at 10:15 A. M. Mr. Woodward was absent.
Minutes of the previousmeetingwere read and approved.
Claims in the amount of $1,882.64, from -the ,following suppliers,
were approved
and ordered paid, also payroll of the various departments for the last half of
October amounting to $6,298.06.

A representative of Julius Seeberger, who owns the property on the southwest
corner of Michigan Street and Western Avenuej submitted a sketch for
the install-
ation of a coal shute into the building. The Board lifter ahalyting the situation
approved this work.,
Mr. Ha_rknerss, of the U. S. Hoffman Machinery Company of New York was present
and the Board in counsel with Building Commissioner Dalton Moomaw analyzed a
proposal for the installation of certain equipment for the elimination of ,
inflammable vapors.in connection with building dry cleaning plants. After going
over this matter quite thoroughly with Mr.Harkness, the Board requested him to
secure
ecure recommendations and get the approval of the Building Commissioner and the

Fire Chief, at which time further considerationof the matter will be given.
,/.Mr. 0. T. Goffeney, architect for the Standard Oil Company submitted a sketch
for the creation of a filling station at Twyckenham Drive and Calvert Street.
After discussing this matter with Mr. Goffeney, the Board requested him to submit

a corrected sketch, removing one of the openings on Twyckenham Drive and moving
one of the openings on Calvert Street farther to the rear of the lot.
/ Mr. Chapleau, representing the Shell Oil Company, discussed with the Board
remodelling of filling station at King Street and Portage Avenue. The Board
requested a sketch to be submitted showing that the present opening of approximately
60 ft. on Portage Avenue would be reduced to not exceed 30 ft. in the revised'-'
lay -out, when the Board would give further consideration to the matter.
The meeting adjourned at 11:00 A. M.
