MEETING _October 18,__ ]:937
Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, October 18,
1937, at 9:30 A. M. Mr. Woodward and Mr. Anderson were absent. Mayor Freyermuth
was present as a member of the Board ex-officio.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Claims, from the following suppliers, in the amount of $1,282.20 were approved
and ordered paid.

V The Board again considered the petition of property owners for a local sewer
on Duey Street. from South Ben
from last regular meeting. Avenue north. Final action on which was postponed
g g. a to the fact that no bids were received from
contractors, the Board now takes final action and rescinds Improvement Resolution
#2490.
A petition asking -for the installation of a street light at the corner df
Allen Street and Blaine Avenue, signed by fourteen residents in the vicinity,
was referred to Mr. Quails, who after having investigated the district
recommends that the petition be denied, for the reason that that particular-
vicinity is reasonably illuminated under present arrangement of lights.
Petition was placed on file.

Surety bond in favor of Charles H. Gollatz of Mishawaka in the Aetna
Casualty Surety Company by the Board.
and was approved
Surety bond of contractor in the -National Casualty Company in favor of
Carl H. McClellan was approved by the Board.
The Indiana & Michigan Electric Company submitted blue prints and
petitioned for permission to install a service manhole near the intersection of
the alley east of Michigan Street and the alley north of Wayne Street, also a
duct line in the alley east of Michigan and north of Wayne, as shown on their
blue print #137-245. Upon recommendation of Mr. Qualls, who made an investi-
gation, permission was granted and the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company were

so notified.
f A petition, signed by five property owners in the affected district, was
presented requesting that water and sewer be installed in Pulaski Street from
West Indiana Avenue to the railroad. This petition was referred to the Engineer-
ing Department for investigation and recommendation.
The meeting adjourned at 10:30 A. M.
