Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held Monday, October 11, 1937,
at 10:00 A. M. Mr. Woodward was absent.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Claims in the amount of $10,074.62, from the fallowing suppliers, were approved
and ordered paid, also payroll of the various departments amounting to $6,317.35.

This being the date set for
the opening
of bids, as advertised, for the
construction' of local sewer on
Duey Avenue,
under Improvement Resolution #2490, and
there having been no bids filed
and no contractors
present to submit bids, the
Board decides to postpone definite
action regarding the installation of this
sewer
for one week, at which time if
no bids are
received the matter of rescinding
the
resolution will be considered.
Continuation certificate covering contractors bond in favor of Carl J. Reinke
was approved and attached to original bond.
A petition from the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company was received requesting
permission to install underground conduit, as shown by their blue prints 137-231
and 137-237, being an enlargement of the present manhole at Western Avenue and
LaFayette Boulevard. On recommendation of Mr. �,ualls, this request was granted.-

A petition.signed by residents and property owners in the affected vicinity
was presented requesting that Oliver Street from the intersection of Prairie Avenue
and Dubail Avenue be -projected south through the vacant field now existing for the
continuation of Oliver Street from Bruce Street to EvGing Avenue. This matter was
referred to the Engineering Department for investigation and recommendation.
The meeting adjourned at 11:00 A. M.
