M. Mr. Hunter was absent. This special meeting was postponed from regular meeting of September 20th for the purpose of giving a larger number of interested persons an opportunity to remonstrate against Improvement Resolution No. 2490, same being for improvement of a local sewer in Duey Avenue from South Bend Avenue to the alley north of St. Vincent Street. There being no written remonstrances and no objectors present at the meeting, the Board received from those present an expression of their desire for this improve- ment. Decision was withheld until all of the members of the Board could be present at a.meeting and was postponed until regular meeting of September 27th. The meeting adjourned at 10:30 A. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. Claims in the amount of 4,481.18, from the following suppliers, were approved and ordered paid, also payroll of the various departments for the last half of September amounting to $6,601.69. Lang Construction Co. 144.00 This being the date set for decision on Improvement Resolution 2490, and the result of the hearing at special meeting on Saturday, September 25th, being reviewed with all members present and the Board being fully advised in the premises, now finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said i.rn.provement will be equal to the estimated cost thereof and that the improvement is necessary, therefore the Board decides to take final action on said Improvement Resolution and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification. The Board now orders that on the llth day of October 1937 it will receive,open and read sealed proposals for the construction of said improvement at 10:30 A. M. The Board further orders that notices of said sealed proposals be published in the South Bend. News -Times and Tribune on the 30th day of September and on the 7th day of October 1937, according to law.
