30 URETING June 7. 1937 Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, June 7, 1937, at 10:30 A. M. Mr. Woodward was absent. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Claims in the amount of 44,959.84, from the following suppliers, were approved and ordered paid, also payroll of the various departments amounting to $5,943.56. Miller and the lessees, Schuyler Rose and C. P. DuComb; to have this down -spouting connected with the sewer, as the City is about to pave the alley. J Mr. Ozmun Laven again appeared before the Board with reference to approach to filling station. he is desirous of installing on South Michigan Street and exhibited photograph of a similar station operated at Ewing and Michigan Streets Eby the Standard Oil Company. After viewing this photograph, the Board gave instructions to have the Standard Oil Company present at its next meeting and i show its authority for the installation as shown by the photograph. j ✓ The Board discussed a condition along the Birdsell Factory on the west side of Columbia Street between Division and Monroe Streets, where pits are installed ;between the sidewalk and building line and not protected. The Clerk was !instructed to reouest„them to have this situation corrected. i 1 Excavation bond in favor of Harry E. Brinker was approved by the Board. ✓ Contract bond in favor of C. A. Jordan Company in the amount of �792.00 was approved by the Board to cover the proper performance of contract to repair Colfax Avenue bridge, in accordance with specifications. ✓ Mr. Vueer submitted his report of the operations of the Street Department for the month of May and a copy was furnished to each member of.the Board. Report is also on file in the office of the Board of Public Viorks. ✓ Mr. E. E. Mangold submitted blue prints for sub -division known as Mangold' • Sub -division, which was approved by the Board and a copy furnished the Engineering Department and one copy placed on file in the office of the Board of Public Works. - I The meeting adjourned at 11:00 A.
