A special meeting of the'Board of Public Works was held on Friday, May 21,
1937,.at 10:30 A. M. All members were present.
The purpose of the meeting was to receive and open bids, as advertised,for
one Tandem Roller to be used on W.P.A. Projects.
The following bids were received:
GALION IRON WORKS & MFG. CO.
1 Galion Variable Weight Roller ............................0 $4,261.00
Electric Starter with Lights, extra..... .................. 125.00
R. C. LARKIN COMPANY
1 Buffalo Springfield Model VT.21 Gasoline Engine Tandem
Road Roller ............................................... $4,050.00
1 Buffalo Springfield Waukesha Model ........................ 4,050.00
1 Buffalo Springfield Model VT.21 with Diesel Engine........ 4,350.00
Electric Starting and Lighting Equipment on any of the
above, extra .............................................. 125.00
After considering all bids, the Board decided to enter into a contract with
R. C. Larkin Company of Chicago for one Buffalo Springfield Model VT.21 Tandem
Road Roller, six -cylinder Diesel Engine --- Price $4,475.00, subject to approval
of the South Bend Common Council.
The purpose of the meeting having been accomplished, the Board adjourned
at 1:30 P. M.
