MEETING June 15, 1936
Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was .,held on Monday, June 15, 1936,
at 11:30 A. M. All members were present.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved.
Claims in the amount of $5,587.93, from the following suppliers, were approved
and ordered paid.

Mr. Weer submitted his report of the
work done by the Street and
Sewer Departments
for the month of April 1936, which report
is on file in the -office of
the Board of
Public Works.
Fire insurance policy in the Firemen's Conservative Mutual Insurance Company,
covering the two new garages in the amount of $5,000.00 on No. 1 and $3,500.00 on
No. 2, was approved by the Board.
Excavation bond in the Home Indemnity Company in favor of 0. J. Shoemaker was
approved and placed on file.
The St. Joseph Heating Company submitted an estimate to heat the City Ha11 under
the present heating installation, which is a one pipe job, at approximately $1,800.00
per heating season. If heating system is revamped and two pipe job installed, steam
heat could be furnished at approximately $1,200.00 per heating system. The matter
was referred to the City Engineer for investigation as to securing prices for changing
present heating installation and also to cover corrective heating installation at the
Central Fire Station and Alarm Station.
The Board approved the plat of Richland Second Addition to South Bend and is
described and comprises the following tract of land to wit:
The Southwest Quarter (S.W.4) of the Southwest Quarter (S.W.4) of Section 15,
Township 37 North, Range 2 East, except 172 ( one hundred seventy-two) feet
off of the North end thereof.
The plat contains 200.(two hundred) lots numbered from 40 to 239 inclusive.
The size of the lots and the widths of the streets and alleys are marked in
feet on the plat.
The streets and alleys are hereby dedicated to the public for use as public
highways only.
The Board also approved plat of Richland Third Addition to the City of South
Bend, which comprises and is described as follows:
The Northwest quarter (N.W.4) of the Southwest Quarter (S.W.4) of Section 15,
Township 37 North, Range 2 East, except the south 172 (one hundred seventy-
two) feet thereof and except the north 400 (four hundred) feet thereof.
The plat contains 128 (one hundred twenty-eight) lots numbered from 240 to
367 inclusive.
The size of the lots and the widths of the streets and alleys are marked in
feet and decimals of feet on the plat.
The streets and alleys are hereby dedicated to the public for use as public
highways only.
In connection with the above plats, t e Warranty Deed is delivered to the City
of South Bend for street purposes R the above mentioned plats and which is described
as follows:
58 feet off of and from the East side of Lot Numbered 5 and 2 feet off of and
from the Vest side of Lot Numbered 4 in Richland First Addition to the City of
South Bend. Also 58 feet off of and from the East side of Lot Numbered 35 and

2 feet off of and from the West side of Lot Numbered 36 in Richland First
i Addition to the City of South Bend. Also 25 feet off of and from the East
side of Lot Numbered 16 and 35 feet off of and from the hest side of Lot
Numbered 15 in Richland First Addition to the City of South Bend. Also
25 feet off of and from the Bast side of Lot Numbered 25 and 35. feet off of
and from the West side of Lot Numbered 26 in Richland First Addition to the
City of South Bend.

Free and clear of all taxes and assessments of record as of this date.
For street purposes. -
