An unsigned communication was referred to the Board of Public Works by the Board of Health concerning the condition of private sewers on Lincoln Way East from Vernon Street to I.Iiami Street. The matter was referred to the Engineering Department with instructions to investigate and report. A communication was received from Attorney Orie Parker, calling attention to a piece of ground on Twyckenha.mi Boulevard in the vicinity of South Bend Avenue that is being used as a public dump and is very offensive. The matter was referred to the Engineering. Department for investigation. A petition signed by residents and property owners in the vicinity of Taylor, William and Scott Streets, numbers 2000 to 2200 south, requesting that Taylor, William, Donald, Ewing Avenue and Scott Streets between Ewing Avenue and Calvert Street be improved by grading and oiling, was referred to the Street Department for attention. Bond of contractor in favor of J. Fred Christman in the Continental Casualty Company, was approved by the Board.
