The Secretary reported a request over the telephone from Kenneth Merrill,
President of the M. B. Skinner Company, requesting that Ewing Avenue from Michigan to
Olive Street be improved. Mr. Weer, Street Commissioner, reported that this thorough
fare had been graded and graveled and that there were no funds to make further improve-
ment. A letter was directed to Mr. Merrill outlining,these facts.
-:The City Civil Engineer, Frederick J. Anderson, filed primary Assessment Roll,
showing awards of damages and assessment of benefits in the matter`of vacation of
alley west of Olive Street from Longley Avenue to alley north of Longley Avenue, same
being Vacation Resolution No. 2485.
In the above -named Assessment Roll, the Board hereby orders that on the 16th day
of December 1935 it will meet in the City Hall at 10:30 A. 11. to hear and receive
remonstrances from all persons interested in or affe-cted by said vacation.
The Board further orders that notices of said hearing be advertised in two news-
papers in South Bend on November 25th and December 2nd, and that notices also together
with the amount of damages awarded and benefits assessed be delivered to property
owners according to law.
Meeting adjourned at 11:50 A. 11.

Special meeting of the Board of Public Works was held in the Mayor's Office on
iday, November 22, 1935, at 9:00 A. M. All members were present, including the Mayor.
The meeting was called for the purpose of determining action to be followed with
eference to decision of the Judge of the Circuit Court in awarding damages to Samuel
eeper in condemnation proceedings under Resolution No. 2481, which -is a part of the
est half of the northwest quarter of Section 1, Township 37 north, Range 2 east,
reviously described and commonly known as the residence property of Samuel Leeper.
This action does not affect any other property under the above condemnation
roceedings.
It was regularly moved by 1r. Hunter, seconded by Mr. Woodward that the City of
�outh Bend discontinue the condemnation proceedings affectAg the above mentioned
roperty.
There being no other business for consideration, the meeting adjourned at 9:30 A. Y.
