All members were present. The minutes of regular meeting of February 25, 1935 and special meeting of February 28, 1935 were read and approved. Claims in the amount of 34,4Swere approved and ordered paid. James H. Pierce complained to the Board that he was finding considerable broken glass in the garbage and subm it ted the following which he asked to have printed on cards at his expense which he would leave at homes were glass is found • (incorrect - see bel oar ) "GARBAGE RULES" "The ordinances of the City of South Bend, and regulations for the disposal of garbage, require that the garbage be fed to hogs. 'Tot this reason you are instructed to keep your garbage absolutely free from any glass, cans and paper. It should consist solely of the refuse from table use. All broken glass, dishware and cans must be kept from your garbage. If wrapped, use as little paper as is absolutely necessary." "Please co-operate with the city officials in observance of these rules." Mr. Quails reported in the matter of placing a street light at the corner of Hildreth and Esther Streets. After investigating the matter carefully, he recommended putting a 1000 lumen lamp at this point at an annual cost of $19.80. The Board concurred and instructed Nyr. Quails to ordar the installation. Mr. Qualls reported -complaints coming from the vicinity of Jefferson Ave. and Esther St. on account of darkness at that point. He recommended turning out two lights number 1681 and 1685 and turning on Tights numbers 1683 and 1687 which would correct the con di ti on. The Board authorized Mr. Qualls to order these changes made. The continuation certificate of John G. Kestler excavation bond was approved by the Board. The meeting edj earned at 12:10 P. M.
