David Varner, Chairperson, Public Works and Property Vacation Committee called the meeting to
order at 3:55 p.m.
Committee Members Present: Timothy Rouse
Other Councilmember's Present: Derek Dieter, Oliver Davis, Ann Puzzello, Karen White
Other's Present: Gary Gilot, Eric Zell, Carol Littrell, Mayor Stephen Luecke, Rita Kopala, Bill
Schalliol, John Murphy, Phil St. Clair, Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, John Voorde
Agenda: Bill No. 101-09 -Alley Vacation Washington & William
Chairperson Varner opened the hearing on Bill No. 101-09 noting that without a quorum the
committee would not be able to send the bill to the full Council with recommendation.
Councilmember Varner then recognized Erick Zell of Wightman-Petrie a sun/eying/engineering
firm hired by the City to process the alley vacation request. Mr. Zell provided two handouts. The
first was a schematic site plan, the second a photographic aerial view. Mr. Zell further noted all
pertinent city departments had approved the request. Bill Schalliol from the Economic
Development Department said the building adjacent to the alley now owned by the city was to be
demolished. The site was being considered as a possible location for a historic Temple Re-
location. There were no questions form Council or the public.
There being no further business to come before the Committee at this time, Chairperson Varner
Adjourned the meeting at 4:01 p.m.
