EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 2-2012
INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF
MEMBERS APPOINTED TO
THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, this Administration is committed to the orderly and efficient operation of
government; and
WHEREAS, this Administration believes that the South Bend Board of Public Works
(Board) will benefit from an expanded knowledge base, range of experience, and expertise of
the members of the Board; and
WHEREAS, an increase in the number of members appointed to the Board will assure
and promote implementation of this policy; and
WHEREAS, the number of the current members of the Board should be increased from
the current number of three (3) members to five (5) members to further the experience and
expertise of the Board as a whole, which is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
South Bend.
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me as the Chief Executive
and Administrative Officer of the -City, and pursuant to Indiana Code 36-4-9-6 (e), it is hereby
ordered as follows:
1. The number of members of the South Bend Board of Public Works shall be
increased from Three (3) members to Five (5) members appointed by the Mayor
of the City of South Bend, in accordance with Indiana Code 36-4-9-6 (c).
2. The Clerk of the City of South Bend shall cause a notice of this Executive Order,
and the action taken herein, to be published under Indiana Code 5-3-1 and in
accordance with Indiana Code 36-4-9-6 (e).
3. This Executive Order shall become effective immediately upon execution.
