The Board approved pay rolls for carious departments in the sum of 5,448.21
and hereby orders City Controller to pay same.
The Board approved claims in the sum of p433.33 for salaries to be paid
out of Track -Zlevation Fund and the Board hereby orders City Controller to pasage
ouf the Track Elevation fund.
The Boerd approved claims for various departments in the sum of : 754.46
and. hereby orders City Uontroller to pay sare as soon as possible.

Upon the recommendation of City En[ineer, IN. S. y�oore, the Board approved
a deed from Charles A. and Uay 1. Jordan for a part of Lot Diumber -ive (5) in 1ayr's
Laporte Avenue Addition to the City of South Bend, for the purpoase of improving
the street intersection. Board_ ordered scid deed recorded.
The follainp petition of the Indiana and �`ichigan Electric Company was
pleced before the Board, together with Yr. Qualls' recomriendation:

orable body for permission to install a transformer vault as shov:n on the attached
blue print at the corner of Main Street and 17!avarre for the purpose of installing
subway transf'orrers for supplying electric service to customers in the Vicinity.
This vault will be located in the parkway and. ,rill be submerged so that
tI'ere will be no more top surface exposed than t"sre is at the present time in the

struction then standard rrinnhole in the sidewalk area instead of the street area. I
feel sure that the benefits andi advantafes of such locations ere obvious to all con-
cerned.
In this instance it will be noted that the proposed location of the vault is in the
intersection of the sidowilks, well back from the present curb lines, in anticipation
of the eventual widening: of either or both streets. The po-ir-tion that extends into the
present parkway will 'Fe sufficiently depressed. below the sidewalk level to permit of
resodding, qn(-,' being maintained as parkway.
The present sidewalk st this location is in very bad condition and the proposed con- 11 Ah
struction will -provide new sidewalk construction without cost to the City car abuttin-a H
