Street (%orxmlissioner, Charles E. Bailey, give a report on the work
being done in the street department with the aid of the Federal Emergency Relief Ad-
ministration assistance and same was found by the Board to be satisfactory.

A letter addressed to W . S. 't oore , City Engineer, from E. T. Tran4
berg, one of the cement foremen on the F. E. R. A. work, asking the City to give him
some allowance for gasoline which he uses in his car in going from one job to another, •
was presented to the Board. Also a letter from V. C. Cox, Director of the F. E. R. A.
Works Division here in which he stated that the me tt-�r of gasoline allowance had been
taken up with him by Trenberg but that the Federel authorities were not allowed to
furnish any money for such expense. lifter some discussion it was recommended by
1-ngincer Tv`oore that the Street Depa rtme nt allow `T'ranberg and Anderson, cement foremen
in charge of F. E. R. A. cement work, be allowed 40 gallons of gasoline each from the
street department for use in their cars during the period of work in this department.
A petition signed by the residents in the vicinity of 1100 Ceorgien
?venue, asking that dumping at this location be dispensed with. The Board ordered
Uharles E. Bailey, sstreet Commissioner, to take immediate steps to have same closed
and 'No Lumping' signs erected at this location. I •
The board instructed the secretary of the "Eoard to write to the
Grand Trunk '+yes to rn Railroad Company asking-~ th em to repair the planking of their tracks
at `f`elnut and Ford Streets.
At the request of Che.rles E. Bailey, Street Uommissioner, who claimf
his department is in need of additional storage spe.ce at the city garage, the Board
instructed the secretary of the -board to -advise the Board of Public Safety that the
space now occupied by the T)og Pound at the City Garage, must be vacated on or before
September 25th,
The Board approved claims in ti---e sum of $2,854.01 for various i
departments and orders City Controller to pay sarue as soon as the money is available.
The following letter from the Division of Public Service Commission
addressed. to a#gym. F. Qualls, Superintendent, was readand ordered placed on file with
other pepers in connection with the contract for Street Lighting:
