Attention Mr. Dick ?ohnson Centl men: In the Iriday, "arch 300. , edition of the South fend Tribune there appears an advertisement cc] line Qr bids to be recei ved by ^-pril 16th . , for two street sweep- ers. In view of the fact thpt we " Pve made incueries from time to time regarding the possi-b 7 ity of interesting the city n street cleaning equipment, and were told pt the "ity w ps without fin-nces PM could make no purchases, we were greatly sur- prised to see this advertisement appear. We are a South Bend concern, are tax -payers, anc employ local labor. he manufacture street flushers, which are user for street cleaning purposes, are conceded to be the most economical e nC sanitary machine on the market, end are used exclusively in some our la rpest cities like ashingtor_ and Philadelphia. The City of hew Fork own three hundred street flushers nnc e0ou` ten sweepers. In our opinion, because we are a local concern, we feel that we should have been consulted and our product investigated before the Oity decides upon a purchase. We are bring this mo tter to lour attention, with the idea of our receiving some consideration on street cleaning equipment that may be purchased by the City of South EenO. - Yours very truly, I:_un i ci pe 1 Supply Compa n y D.
