Board met in regular session at 3 P. I�%. Mr. Diak.- Johnson and Mir, ralph H. Kuss
oresent. Mr. William S. Moore, Gity Engineer, also present.
Minutes of meeting held Mond ay, Septembe r 18th . , 1933 , read and approved.
Mr. Glen Oakley, Councilman, appeared before the Board requesting that some
action be taken with the manufa.cturer•:of the streets signs, which have faded, to such
as ext4bnt that the names are indiscernible. The Board instructed the Clerk to write
to the Industries department of the Indiana State Prison, from whom these street signs
were purchased,and ask for some re -adjustment from them.
The following petition and accompanying letter having been filed and- '-ity
attorney,Mr. I. S. Romig having a same the Board g> g roved �p , approved the redistribution
of assessments as outlined on the schedule:

Gentlemen :
We are herewith enclosing a petition, signed -by all the persons interested, asking
for a reassessment of lots numbered 156, 157, 158, 159 160 and 161 and 162 in Ewing
Park .Addition to the City of South Bend, the original assessment under roll No.1322,
improvement resolution No.904, fbr the improvement by grading and constructing cement
didewalk. At the time of that improvement in 1923 the land in question was divided
and platted in acre tracts and lot No.24 was divided into seven lots as above described.
There are three assessments of $56.70 still unpaid and the prop. rty owners are asking
that these assessments be prorated equally upon their seven lots.

It will be necessary to publish any notice as all the parties are before and have waived
any fur the r no tic e. It will be appreciated if you cause the engineering department
to prepare a reassessment, and when the same is done we will appreciate it if you will
advise our of fic e.

PETITION FOR MAKING REASSESSMENT.
The undersigned petitioners respectfully represent that in the year 1923 the
Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Ind is na, adopted the Improvement
resolution No.904 for the improvement of Ewing Avenue by grading and constructing cement
sidewalk. That a contract was let under said resolution and said improvement was made,
and that assessment roll No.1322 was spread and that Lot No.24 in Springbrook acres in
the City of South rend, Indiana, was assessment fbr the making of said improvement.
That the following installments of said assessment again said Lot No.24 in
Springbrook Acres are liens and have not been paid:

And these petitioners represent that sometime after the year 1923, said Lot
No.24 was subdivided and replatted as a part of hwing Park Addition to the City of
South Bend, and that said Lot No.24 was replatted into lots numbered 156-, 1579 1581
1599 160, 161 and 162 in Ewing Park Addition. That said plat of Ewing P� rk Addition
has been approved by the Board of Public Works and has been recorded and everything
has been done in the approval of same as required by law. That the undersigned
Karl Weisser, 8r;1, IS the owner of Lot no.1571 Emil Weisser is the owner of Lot No.156,
Elizabeth G. Seebirt id the owner of Lot No.162, and Daniel D. Schurtz is the owner
of the others of said described lots. That each of them waive any further notice
of this proceeding.
That they respectfully pray that this Court, pursuant to statute in such cases
provided, reassess the assessments .above given, together with interest upon said seven
lots, apportioning an equal amount to each of the same.

The Board approved the renewal certificate for the excavation bond of Harry D.
Perkins uompeny, in the sum of $1,000.00 for the period of one year from August 17th.,
1933. 'paid certificate signed by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co.
The Board approved claims for various departments in the sum of $301.39.
The Board approved pay roll claims for various departments in the sum of 6,794.63
and he re by orders the City Uontrolle r to pay same.
